Problem with XM FM 1 Direct Adapter

Not sure if this is the right forum....

I have a Delphi SkyFi2 that I have been using with the cassette adapter. I just picked up an Audiovox XMFM1 FM Direct Adapter. It is an FM Modulator and allows the XM to pass through the antenna in to the radio playing back on a number of different frequencies. 88.5 for this test.

Problem is, once I insert this device, I get XM on 88.5, but all the rest of my FM is pure static.

Any ideas? I called Audiovox. They told me the modulator was bad. I returned it and bought another....same issue. I doubt it is the modulator.

Stumped in LA.

turn the skyfi off.

when the unit is on the fm mod (relay) turns on and only allows the channel that you chose to then be used. make sense? if you want to listen to fm, just turn your xm off and when you wanna listen to the xm just turn it on and you should hear your reception change.

oh. audiovox did have some issues with a batch of fm mods, but this was last year some time. solder joint on the circuit board would not make a good contact, easy fix for someone who knows how to solder, but it would usually cut out the reception of the xm antenna itself not the fm reception.
