Problem removing stock tips...

Problem removing stock tips...

did anyone else have a problem removing the bolts for the stock exhaust tips to put on 3a tips. mine are rusted pretty good and i soaked em in wd-40 and ther still stubborn as hell. how'd you guys remove em???

just keep soaking them every so often, maybe try some PB blaster or that new Royal Purple product

i use white grease - smear it on the bolt and unscrew

I didn't unbolt mine, I just pulled them off because my bolts were that rusted. I was able to wiggle them off and back on. I have done it at least three times in the past year and they haven't fallen off yet.

Sounds like the screws are stripped. Use two hands to squeeze the back of the tip and pull it straight out. Or use a flat screwdriver to pry the screw out and unscrew it at the same time.

That's what I ended up doing as well due to the fact that the screws broke off when I tried to break them free - and that was with soaking them with PB Blaster! Just muscle it off!

Shop cut mine off when I had mufflers installed, They welded them back onto my new ones.

FINALLY got em off! i just pinched the sides on the back and pulled it right off
