Does any one has trouble engaging Parking Brake?? I have some problem engaging the Parking Brake.... it usually won't lock in place at first couple tries.... It would lock if I press down the Parking Brake HARD AND FAST!!!! Otherwise, it would keep releasing itself......
If Acura is gonna use foot-operate parking brake, why can't they made one similar to those on MBs?? Which you release the Parking Brake with a seperate handle, instead of step on parking brake again....

Not having used a foot parking brake for a very long time, I had a bit of a time in getting used to this design (push to engage, push to release). I think what I was doing originally was to push a little bit more after initially engaging it. All that did was to release it again. It seems that you have to push it down, then leave it alone. The extra pressure just unlocks it.
Hope it helps!

BarryH,
I assume you are referring to the new C-Class?? As the E, S, ML, SL still using a "release handle"...
For the Parking Brake on our TLS, I found a way to engage it w/out it poping back again.... try step down the parking brake, HARD and FAST and ALL THE WAY DOWN... that holds it...
at least it works for me... ![](http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/biggrin.gif)

u really have to push hard the first week or so, then it gets a lot easier to push.. in fact i still pushed it too hard, and if u just keep pushing in one hard push, it goes too far and realeases... so u just need to figure out when its too much... but i think this is much better than having a separate release lever... had it on a buick and hated it... hand brake is still the best, but the car is more luxury than sport... so no hand brake for u!

OK, you guys post and everyone runs out to check their cars; me included. I checked the operation on my parking brake and it works as advertised. Push down all the way once and it stays and locks the parking brake, push down the second time and the parking brake is released.
Being in South Florida I can't tell you the next time I'll ever touch my parking brake. There are no steep hills or inclines here; just flat-flat-flat.![](http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/cool.gif)
