What service did you have done? That would help us figure out what the cost would be. As for rotors and pads. They should take an hour. My local mechanic charges $60 for the labor.

NO service at all is included in that price, that is merely the charge for brake pads (parts and labor) and labor for replacing the rotors!!! IN addition I am having a 112k service which is 120 bucks or so....

Depending on what parts you choose can really change your total. For your comparision I will tell you what I will be spending on my brake job. Rotora Slotted Rotors $155, Ceramic Pads $65, labor $60. That is it. Grand Total est to be $280

The dealer is charging you about $100-120/hr, also they are quoting 2hrs of work. It should only take an hour.

As for your 112k service, what are they doing? You should only need oil changes till your regular 30k tune-up. Those intermediate tune-up are a joke. Check this and inspect that. You can do that yourself in the garage.

I assume that price is only for the front set of rotors and pads right? But, MikeyB_TLS you really got screwed for sure, you should have looked around. And done even bother with the service. The only work our cars need after 100k is the timing belt and water pump to be replaced and change your spark plugs if you havent.

Yeah, the cost I posted was just for the front set. I assume he just had the front brakes changed.

Brake Job

I work at an Acura Dealership in Portland, Oregon and a replacement set of factory pads and a resurfacing of the rotors, which is almost always recommended, runs $185. Front or rear it doesn't matter. Always go factory pads unless you want to start chewing through rotors because that factory ones are a bit soft. You can always get at least 2 resurfacings per rotor.

You got hosed for that install.

Changing the pads and rotors is fairly straightforward, and shouldn't cost that much. Have you ever considered doing this work yourself??
