Price of comptech SuperCharger!!

hey guys,.......
Read this post from Mike B at ComptechUSA

Nighthawkblack :
So does this mean you have a working version? What are the details, what is included and how much? Thanks .

Mike B:
It is a running version but we still have much testing and tuning to do before it would be ready for production. It will include a new fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, blower unit, air box and associated mounting and drive hardware. We're aiming for a target price of $5000, hopefully less. I can't say anything about power gains yet because we're still developing it.

Again, it depends on the HP gain....... most likely you will need to beef up you tranny thought...

I thought about going crazy with my TL, and I have considered things like Brembo kit, 3.5 conversion... But when I read about all those tranny problems and since I feel my tranny are dying, too... I will leave it stock...

Yah, the tranny is what scares me. I had my ZEX nitrous for a year and never installed it because of the tranny.

Short of outright replacing the tranny with an upgraded aftermarket type tranny, how else would someone go about beefing up their stock tranny? If you ask me, this is leading towards some serious $$$$'s. But worse, all we are doing is f**kin' up our $29K ride. I think our dollars are better spent on other upgrades. JMHO...

5k is not a bad price at all! a lot of superchargers and turbos out for the is300 now, but the cost is much more! also consider that u are not ruining your warranty!

If you got the SC, and your tranny went out, would the tranny be under warranty? If they say that it went out because of the SC, then it would NOT be covered, right? I'm not sure, so someone please let me know. Not that I'm going to buy it, though. What do you think, 50HP?

I was told by Acura here in Austin, TX that if you buy a Comptech SC, and if your tranny dies, and it's because of the Comptech SC (and of course this was all approved by Comptech, they said it was ok for your car etc etc) then they have to replace it under warranty...that's how the agreement with Comptech and Acura goes. So I guess it comes down to do you WANT your tranny to go out and wait to repair it. And something I wonder...they'd replace it with another same-type tranny...which could also go out. This would be one hell of a headache for them then...I don't know what they'd do.
