power windows problem

i been having this problem for a while now,has anyone had a problem with the auto up, when used it goes all the way up and pops back down about a inch or 2? i have my wireing modify for my remote windows with the alarm, but every time i reset it and reset the window, i find it messed up again after a few days, i have reset it many times and after i set it it works fine but then it happens again, any suggestions?

I wonder if there's a safety circuit that kicks the window back down if it hits something too hard on the way up? You know like a garage door opener, so a kid's arm can't get crushed... If so, perhaps your window is binding too hard up at the top and triggering this reverse direction? Or perhaps there are position sensor switches that are misadjusted and it doesn't know that it has hit the top?

Just guesses, but perhaps a question you could ask the dealer over the phone, or perhaps even read about in the manual.

Sorry I couldn't be more help...

Good luck!

we do have a safety reverse feature on our auto-up switch, however it doesnt work real well and i believe these a TSB on it. Mine works for the first 1/3 of the way up and then the windows not stoppin until it gets to the top.
Its sound like with your mods you sould disable the safety feature and see if thats fixes it.

Hey, good question! I have a CompuStar alarm w/remote start and a "windows up" module and my driver's window does the same thing. It goes up to the top, hits, and then reverses about 1-2 inches. I didn't know if it was a "feature" of my TL-S or if my windows-up mod caused the problem.

Does anyone else with a similar setup have this problem?

i hope you guys dont use that feature for all 4 windows at once to often. can you imagine what the electrical drain is on your batt.??? we're talkin about 4 good sized electrical motors running at one time, ever notice that when you power up 1 window then hit the power for another the 1st 1 slows down? thats current, and that with the engine running!
Ill give you it is impressive to walk from your car and secure it like that but dont expect to get a good life from your batt. OR your window motors(yes motors)
If you guys already know this and are wieghting on the side of coolness, thats cool. I just know i personally would hate it if i was repeatedly doing something bad to my car and no one took the time or cared enough to let me know.

You need to find the wiring schem. for the drivers door to disable the doohicky.

peace-out,,,or whatever we say in the name of coolness

the motors for the power windows arent that big to be honest, their current draw is no more than and amp each, plus the duration is reallly small but i have mine wired up for just the fronts, anyways, so no one know how to fix this problem?, i guess imma have to wire it up to a switch or something... let me know if someone can figure it out or whoever has a HELMS thanks

When I picked up the car, they said they could not repeat the problem. Sure enough, it did not happen. It has happened many times since. I am just spoiled by Toyota/Lexus trusting the customer and fixing the problem even if it means replacing the entire mechanism. This keeps people coming back. I have owned many different vehicles, but Acura service has been a huge disapointment from the district office on down! Lots of quality problems, but the engine is sweet.

Well, I can only speak for the CompuStar owners, but our "windows-up" function closes one window at a time until all windows are closed.

But thanks for the warning anyway. You're right... better to have someone say something (useful) than to find out later that some damage has occurred because everyone kept quiet!

Later,

V.
