Potentially Looking to purchase 03 TL-S
I've always liked this body style with the Type S lip kit. I'm thinking about purchase a new daily car for work.
I have a few questions though
1.Does this model year have the transmission problems
2. Can you still have on star service
3.More than likely if i find one it is going to be 75k or more miles. When do you have to change the timing belt.
Other wise i hope to find a anthracite color w/navi and a stock kit.

1. trans is giant pos if you have the auto.
2. No onstar as analog cellular is no longer in use and the spectrum has been allocated for other uses
3. manual states 7 years or 105K Acura dealer states that new specs are 10 years or 105K.

some 03 get a recall timing belt free!
call acura care with the VIN of any car you like- 1 800 382 2238 x5
tell them `prebuy inspection` and need history of warranty repairs (was trans ever replaced and when) and if part of the trans extended warranty VINs
03s had onstar? the things I am not aware of~
the timing belt job runs $800-1200-1500 usd, depending on dealer loction and amount of work done, extra cost would include items such as valve adjustment, ps fluid- brake fluid flushes

buying a warranty to cover the trans for the time you plan to own the car is a wise investment
anytime after 50-60kmiles is ripe for failure- not all fail but its $4 grand!!! when it does

You got an OnStar mirror if I recall correctly.
I also think you needed the Navigation pkg. to get it...
Check email, service reminders (i think), bla, bla.

All 03 tl base or type s that have navigation have on star. But only the 03's and you can tell there is an antenna on the rear of the roof thats the onstar antenna.

Im guessing you can get an update chip for onstar to go digital,,
seems like a buddy with a truck had to do that a few years ago or lose service

the update was to remove or disable the onstar system by unplugging the sstem. only the hybrid or all digital systems still work.
