Possible to get a hitch on a TL Type S
I would like to get a hitch installed on my new 2002 TL Type S, however I get different stories from different people.
UHaul tells me a hitch is not out yet for the 2002 and it will be different than the one used on the 2001 TL.
My dealer says the 2001 TL type hitch should work on my car.
If anyone got a hitch installed I would just like to know what type.
I basically just want one for a bike rack.
By the way I negotiated a price by:
1. going on-line to http://www.acuradealer.com/sussman-willowgrove/ and asking for a quote (I asked for the price $29,622 for a 2002 TL Type S (No Nav)
2. Marissa sent back an email saying they could meet that price.
3. I called her up and negotiated a spoiler for $650, free wheel locks and reduced prices on mud flaps and a moonroof visor (can't remember the exact figures).
4. Called up a dealer around where I live (Pittsburgh PA) who said they would do the deal for $300 more.
5. I accepted and went down and bought the car. No haggling! Yea, I might not have gotten the best deal of anyone in the world but am happy that I at least got a reasonable price for the car.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out,
Mark

Why in the world would you put a hitch on a Type S???
Just buy a Yakima or Thule rack. Its easier you wouldn't need to look like your hauling a trailer. Its a tragedy to haul a trailer on a Type S.

I wouldn't say a Type S lacks torque, but I know what you mean.
Yeah, go buy a truck if you want to haul something.
For me, I'll get a Yakima setup for my bikes. (getting one soon, can't fit even one bike in the trunk...darn no folding rear seats.)

moutain bikes and hitches
no better way of hauling your mountain bike around than a t-hitch. keeps everying from touching the car.
i agree with the first poster on this and wonder the same thing - can the 02 TL-S use the 01 TL hitch set ups?
