POPPING/GRINDING noise PLEASE help!

Hey fella's Its been a LONG time since iv been here but im having a problem
My car just started making a grinding/popping noise (more so a pop) from the front end of the car when i am
A: accelerating from a stop it makes a few popping noises but then stops
B: I can feel it in my pedal a little
C: when in reverse
D: when im coming to a stop somtimes.

it seems like its coming from front right but dont know.

I am really baffled at what it might be. Im hoping its not another tranny cause that will be my 4th.. My other trannys never did this so im hoping it has to do with steering or something else. PLEASE HELP ME!

Thanks

popping sounds like maybe a blown ball joint on that side? grinding though makes me think wheel bearing. Just replaced my lower ball joints this week because i was getting banging and popping on one side, now good as new.

Is it something mechanical or is the motor doing it?

if you listen carefully at slow speed -turned wheel and start to move - click click click
thats cv joint failure
if its pop pop pop- it used to be cv joint failure and now is cv joint destruction

A local firstone said they would replace my axle for 200 bucks total. the honda dealership was 240. Both would have lifetime warranties on the axles. what should i do!? Iv talked to al ot of people and they all have told me its not rocket science to replace an axle so im thinking about saving the money and going to firestone.

the new axle assembly with cv bearings is about 75-100 at napa, and takes about an hour to do
getting a quality part is important so DIY or the dealer- lifetime warranty only means you will be back there again!
will firestone even tell you what brand they want to use?

I would say CV or Balljoint as well. If you dont hear it when hitting bumps its most likely the CV.

they said they would get it from anywhere around here but it would have a lifetime warrantee. they said i could request where i got it from, i figure ill ask for them to get it from napa. Now will this axle solve both issues. I mean... i dont hear it going over bumps, jut poping when i put it into gear or acel or decel or turning my wheel. :-/

Not if it is more than one issue causing noise. Did you notice all of these symptoms simultaneously?
