i might just start out doing the exterior fill of the front mount and if thats not enough ill go with a fully filled mount. should keep it from rising as much, long with a poly filled side mount.

i have a spare front mount i could take my time and do this right. drain it, cut it, clean it right. be a fun project. i cut open my old rear mount and drained the fluid, it smells like ass. very thin fluid.

Thats why you do it to NEW mounts. That way you fill them, and let them sit and when ready you install them on the car and not take the ones on the car (especially if shot) and try to do it quickly. You really need the stuff to dry.

OK so for the front mount (even a new one) you do the following:
1. Take off the top surround and plate by removing the 4 small bolts
2. Cut out all of the rubber in the mount (or just 90% and leave a small part on each side to keep the mount in its original position respective to height so it'll fit when you install it?)
3. Drain all of the fluid and clean out the inside of the mount
4. fill the bottom with poly (do you need to plug the bottom nipple where the hydraulic line connects to?)
5. Put the top plate back on with the surround.
6. Duct tape around the entire top of the mount
7. Fill the top with poly
8. wait 7-10 days for drying and reinstall
Am I on the wrong track? I just ordered a front mount and the 2 part 60a urethane recommended on the DIY Thread.

well I got the poly from mcmasters today and filled an Anchor front motor mount. It's not vac assisted as all other poly mounts I've seen. It was also only $63 from Rock Auto so I figure what the hell. Now I see Exceleraste has new mounts that will be produced and he's already installed one in a CL-S. I wish I waited, but I still might get the new mount set and just sell the mount I just poured. I'm torn. If I do sell the new mount would anyone be interested?

Well I installed my new poly filled front mount today. I bought the front mount (Anchor is the brand) from RockAuto for about $60-65. It is not vac assisted (so I plugged the vac line and vip tied it so it wasn't flogging around. I ordered a pound of the 2 part urethane from mcmasters (60A) and drilled out almost all of the rubber. I then tapped all around it with duct tape. I taped wide to try and beef it up some more as I planned on using the whole pound on just this mount. I ended up using almost the entire pound (very little was left over if anything usable). I let it cure for 6 days (too impatient to wait for the 7th day). I let it cure in my boiler room which is very warm and dry. That should aid in speeding up the curing process. Installation was a little more of a PITA than normal, but not too bad. I have a good side mount and an original rear mount (217k on that sucker). I also have the Ingalls ETD. I took it for a drive and HOLY SHIT!!!. My car shifted far smoother than before and felt quicker. It definitely pulls harder than it did and acceleration feels more linear. There are a good amount of vibrations though. The way I filled it was to cover the top plate but not too the point where the motor mount bracket would rest on poly (but very close). It is also very wide and blocky. When I compared the filled mount and my old mount side by side my old mount was a good 1/2" shorter. I assume from being compressed over the last couple of years. The vibrations are only felt while in drive and stopped at a light. Also wheel hop has been greatly reduced. Now I need to get a new rear mount as you can see the motor leaning back some, but doesn't really forward at all.
NEXT TO DO:
New rear OEM Mount (non-poly filled)
New Moog radius rod bushings
new lowering control arms (mine are orginal)
After those are taken care of I should be good to go with some full throttle launches from a stop without hopping at all. Fingers crossed.

Well I've got over 1000 miles on the poly filled front mount and it's holding up perfectly. Vibrations aren't any better. More than I expected, but not too bothersome. I've decided to try a 3 for 3 poly setup. I just filled new rear and side mounts with 60a and plan to install them this weekend. Looking for a little helps as far as the rear goes. It looks like I should remove the strut tower bar and a coolant hose that goes over the top of it and few other little things. Looks like a total PITA, but can't be worse than headers I hope. Also plan to change the radius rod bushings the following weekend along with new inner and outer tie rods. The Moog bushings are hard as hell, much harder than OEM. Those should make a nice difference too.

I'm going to do my tranny mounts soon. One of my tranny mounts tore in half and the other is going to be following soon. The vibrations from having all solid poly mounts all around was too much for the weak rubber in the tranny mounts to take. Do you guys think 60a is too stiff for the tranny mounts?
