Plz Help!

i wanna lower the tl... depending on how much i have apexi coilovers or other springs...or maybe even ground control...

all the sudden...my dad says he cant trust the aftermarket products and says that changing a brand new 2002 models suspension is risky and he does not want to take the risk. He says such things should be done only on older cars...and all the sudden i'm like WTF! what went into his mind??!?!...

i was trying to explain him how it is better... can u guys help a fellow tl-er out??? plz give me some stuff to tell my dad, and advantages and disadvatages of lowering(by anything)

and i need to kinda prove him he can trust big aftermarket companies such as h&r, comptech, apexi etc etc...

thanx alot guys and i hope to hear back from u guys and get my car lowered as soon as possible...!!!

when i was young, and tired to mod my car.my parents can not trust the aftermarket parts either, they prefer oem parts and told me if aftermarker parts were good, why don't car factories use them istead. but what i have told them is aftermarket parts are much expensive and stronger and better than the stock oems'. for example.u are going to trust your stock brake system or brembo brake systems. stock cast alloy wheels or bbs forgged and light weight alloy wheels. stock plastic brake lines or stainless brake lines. etc.... but u have to buy the name brands aftermarket parts, not just whatever aftermarket parts are good and strong or ideal..buy the name brands..bring your parents to the car mod shops and show them the parts and show them the stock parts too..sometimes..they do not want u to mod is because they do not want u to waste money on mods, just like my partents did.good luck to your mod...but whatever u mod. u need to consider for the daily use also..if your tls is too low..u can not go anywhere..your partents will complain too..good luck again...

Advantages: Sporty appearence, planted feel, less body roll, no submarin effect(the front dipping when braking hard or front lifting when taking off)....

Disadvantages: A little loss in ride quality, maybe scraping depending on how low you go.......

hi.i still have the bc plate on my cls.i do not change it to wa plate.so does the icbc insurance. i only paid tax in bc.i bought it at loudheed acura. i will not thinking of changing it to wa plate,as that will void the warranty as canada acura told me. so i will at least keep the bc plate for quite years.

It's so funny seeing a middle age asian woman driving her car
with stickers and garbage can exhaust because her kids f'd her
repsectable car up trying to be a ricer.

If it's not your car... don't waste your money. Get your own car
and do what ever you like to it. Consider it a method of independance.
The last thing I'd want is to drive my parents car... let alone soup it up.

I second that--no point in buying expensive aftermarket parts on a car that's not yours, unless somehow your parents are gonna give you the car in a few years or so. Then again, hopefully you'll earn enough money to buy your own car and then you can do whatever you want to it.

yup, i agree...why fix up someone ele's ride, especially if it is your parents? i go WTF sometimes when i see older people drive fixed up cars. you said they want the lowered look too, but are you sure? some how i don't think that was their original idea...maybe yours. because if they did, they would understand that the apexi coilovers or h&r/eibach/comptech springs are quality parts. it's not like you are buying no name, no reputation, new upstart company products. staying with factory parts means staying...well, factory. how you you expect to lower if you don't buy aftermarket parts?

hahahaha

it seems like all of lilboykorea's posts turn from tl-s related info into some kind of parent lecture....

By all means, I don't mean to upset any of the previous posters or lilboy himself.... just a pure observation that I think is quite funny....

lilboy--if I can be serious for a moment--I know how it is--really! Way back when I was 21 my dad let me use his Nissan Hardbody p/u to go to/from work. Next thing you know, I dropped it, put a booming stereo system, and slapped some tires/rims on it. Right after that, I got a stern lecture from my dad reminding me of his generosity for letting me use his truck when I didn't have a car to call my own. I learned my lesson after that and told myself one of the first things I'm gonna do is earn enough money to buy my own car so that I can do whatever I want to my car whenever I want to. Needless to say, I achived my goal...

Tony

P.S.: after the lecture my dad let me keep the mods on the truck
