Angry Please help!! Can't open the trunk.

Guys,

Is there any other way to open the trunk if both trunk release on the door and remote don't work? I couldn't open it this morning and am very sure that the trunk main switch not been touched since the day one I own this car.

I even open it Sunday night; but not working now. Please help!!!!

so u tried the control switch that is in the dash? maybe its possible that your trunk is jammed cuz of the weather,

press the trunk release on the control and then try to lift the trunk after checking the dash for the switch

Reach through the passthrough and pull the manual release.

Yup, works well if you get trapped in your trunk also

Or if someone locks you in there.

I agree with Eternal... make sure the switch in the glove box was not touched (can't hurt to double check). If it wasn't and it's still not opening you may have to bring it to the dealer....

Yep...open the ski-pass through door, reach ur hand to the top of the opening..there should be a pull lever...

This feature is used if ur battery dies and ur remote and main switch can't work.

Thank you guys for all the inputs.
I checked the main switch in the glove box and it wasn't touched.

Well... I then checked with my co-worker's CL-S to locate the emergency trunk release and finally found mine and open it. For some reason, my trunk won't open with release on the door or with the remote.

An appointment already made with an Acura dealer. Hopefully it coverd by the warranty.

Yeah, I noticed that. But I like the clean look.

Angry

My trunk release went out this week. Worked in the morning then just all of a sudden stopped working at noon.

Called the dealer and made an appointment for next Friday. Still covered under warranty. Thank God!

It's not the cold. The dealer still has to look at it. They said something about actuater failure?

Will post next week

For now everything goes in the back seat.

That cable is for your gas door...the trunk release is on the back end of the trunk lid (the glow in the dark lever)...unless you've got some gorilla arms you aren't reaching it from the ski pass.

I was thinking the other day what would happen if the trunk release switch and my remote didn't work, how I would open the trunk. Then this morning I got a scare whenI couldn't open the trunk to get my ice scraper. Ended up it was just frozen shut. I'm sure the dealer would fix it without too many questions.

I guess it would be either the actuator or the solenoid.

well in my car your arms would only have to be about 3" long, cause the release is about 2" up dead center of the pass through

Correct. While the actual lever is towards the back, there is a cable/handle you can pull right above and behind the pass-through opening.

Kinda funny how they make the handle glow in the dark thinking that the possibility exists for people to lock THEMSELVES or GET THEMSELVES locked in trunks. Id like to read the original tech bulletin on this: "We need to make it easier for people to get themselves out of their trunks so a modification ....."

Countless number of children has died due to suffocation and extreme heat. In most cases, they would be playing around, and accidentally close the trunk.

If the car companies can spend the extra 5 dollars and save a SINGLE life by implementing this device, then I'll be more than happy to pay it.

It also eliminates the possibility of you getting kidnapped and locked in the trunk of your own car.
