places and prices for rotors..?

i am in need of rotors and pads, but depending on the price i either might choose:

blank rotors
or
just slotted rotors (not crossdrilled) thinking of Rotora

i am low on cash so i need to spend it wisely, but if blanks are much cheaper, i wouldn't mind.

but i know i've always wanted slotted rotors (for those times i wish i had it)

i just don't want to regret spending the money for blanks if slotted rotors are at a good price right now..

oh, and best prices for pads too! anything is fine, as long as they are good quality (EBC, Hawks, OEM, etc..)

streetbeatcustoms.com for rotora slotted rotors & tirerack.com for pads

Akebono, EBC, Hawk or satisfied Ceramic Only pads are what you should stick with. Tirerack has akebono pads for 52 per axle for a tl.

akebono... hmm... never heard of them even after searching the site. are they in the same 'class' as the EBC and Hawks (which seem to be the popular ones on the forum)?

I use Akebono on my 2002 TLs. It works fine. No dust, quite and stops well. I had use EBC green stuff for my Volvo. It is not worth the money. It is nosier, dustier, and no improvement over Ceramic brake. IMO.

whoa... really? many people can here can contest to that..but this is really what i want to hear, anymore good and bad comments?

i think i might settle for the rotora slotted... any other places to get them? so far, streetbeatcustoms has one for 82.95 - so a pair would be 165.90 w/ free shipping..

I got my Rotora slotted rotors from streetbeatcustoms.com. They have the best price on Rotoras. I got the slotted all the way around for ~$300 including shipping. After much research, I knew I wanted to stay with cermanic pads, the semi-metallic pads are rough on rotors and give off a lot of dust. I wanted improved braking over OEM and very little dust. I chose the Axxis Deluxe plus and they meet my needs and expectations.

See the below link for a comparison of the Axxis brake pads. A lot of people have bought the aggressive Axxis Ultimate pads hand have not liked them mainly because of the dust and pad life.

I also changed the brake fluid and am now using Valvoline synthetic which is compatable to DOT3 & DOT4 brake fluid.
