Pin-Striping on a TLS?

I was at my job this morning and noticed a TL-S in SSM with pin striping. It was tastefully done and looked very original from the dealer or factory. Just behind the rear doors there was the (in vogue) manufacturer's emblem interupting the the stripe then continuing to the back of the car.

Was this a factory option or something the dealer did?

I have seen the pinstriping, it is a factory option, when i went to a local dealer while i was searching for my car i saw a CL with pinstriping and i looked at the Sticker and it was a $160 option which stated "hand painted accent" or something to that effect. It doesn't do anything for me though...

The car was moving so I didn't have time to get a GOOD look at it.

I will say this much, it did look very Toyota-ish.

Ever think of just shooting your friend and ending his whole miserable existence now?
Well, maybe that is a little drastic. How about simply getting him some new headrests and a pair of pants for Christmas...

I've seen that pin-striping on the integras, but the TL's would look super-ghey with it. IMO.

They have pin stripes at Gatorland Acura, its a dealer option. It includes a little (A)cura symbol along the pin strip on each side. looks very nice. 80 bucks. They wouldn't let me put it on my TL, said only for new cars. BAH.

I got my entire car re-painted b/c it had the same pinstripe on it, except it wasn't "pinstriping", it was actual paint!!! I tried EVERYTHING I could to get it off (buffing, solutions, etc.) with no success at all.

Why in the HE(( would you get a pinstripe PAINTED on your car?

I dunno either...

The pinstriping is an after-market option. My dealer has a guy who comes around one day a week and does it for $35 -- two pinstripes with a small Acura emblem just in front of the mirrors. Most of the cars in the showroom have it. The VWs, which they also sell, get a VW emblem. The guy probably goes down the strip, from one dealer to the next, painting stripes on cars. Nice enough work, I guess, but at $35 a car (or less) I don't see how he earns enough money to make getting out of bed worth it.

When I first bought my TL it had pinstripping on it so I am assuming it is a dealer/factory option. I had it on for a few years. Only recently did I get it removed professionally.

Here is an old pic with pinstripping:

Here is a recent pic without pinstripping:
