Pictures of my nitrous installed

We installed it last Wednesday and took it to the track. My times were only half a second faster than stock and I was pissed. We then found out why.

The tach signal is very sensitive and the MSD system we put on and had tied into it was causing a drain that the computer mistook for a problem and was activating the VSD system which in turn pulled timing. So we had to order a few more parts and now the setup is complete.

The entire setup has been installed using only tie wraps. The only two pieces I will ever have to replace are the cup holder and the carpeted trunk liner (Though I could always say there was a sub back there). There was no drilling and all the hoses and electrical connectors were run the existing holes in the firewall.

I have the complete kit running a 70 shot. The four switches are the system arm, bottle warmer, remote bottle opener, and the purge. In the engine you can see the MSD components we installed which are also removable without any perminant marks. I currently have the pills set so that the nitrous comes on at 3000 rpms and cust off at 6300. I have a 6500, 6700 and 6900 pill, I'll be testing them out at the track. You can see the purge running up between the windshield wipers.

I'll take the car to the track this Wednesday for test and tune to see what the improvements are. It for sure pulls harder now, I caught rubber in first when the rpms went up to 5,000 and VTEC kicked in. I'm sure I am well into the 13's.

And yes, that is a huge 15 lb bottle in the trunk. I could have mounted it sideways but it would have ended up flopping around back there. It takes 20 seconds to remove it if I ever have to haul anything.

:wow: Nice!

You need to take some more pics, preferably capturing the look on the dude's face next to you when you purge the NOS at a stoplight.

I'm pretty naive when it comes to NOS applications in Hondas/Acuras .. and pretty much any car around...

take your TL-S, for instance, w/ the 70shot...

how frequently and under what circumstances can you spray before you start worrying about damaging the internals/externals of your engine?

THanks

If its installed correctly and you don't put on a huge shot you can run it indefinately without any problems. I know a guy here in Jax that has been running a 70 shot on his Accord V6 for four years and 80,000 miles with zero problems. Hell, he's probably run 50 bottles through by now.

On the other side however, if you don't install it correctly (like we almost did with the VSA activating as soon as it charged) or if you run a huge shot, then you could blow your motor on the first run.

Everything is relative, do some research before you decide what you want to do and make sure you have it installed correctly and you will be fine.

There are some people on the board that will tell you the sky is falling, most of them are driving stock (unmodified) cars and can only quote worst case possibilities. I only listen to people who have experience with what they are talking about.

Isn't NOS a red flag for the acura dealerships to void a warranty .. i guess if I was gunna do it, I'd do it after my drivetrain warranty exprired.. But that's just me, power to you and good work.

Well if your worried about that then maybe you shouldn't do it. It wasn't an issue for me. However, my entire system can be removed in about an hour and no one would ever know it had been installed. No dealership is going to tear down a motor for a tranny rebuild - especially when the failure rate for tranny's is so high on our specific car already.

I'm already on my third tank refill. Well, I should only be on my second but my buddy and I discovered the second tank was medical grade nitrous so it went for other purposes...

That Vette is awesome. I'm also glad to see that someone can still appreciate the TLS even if their other car is a beast!

My fiancee wants a vette or an M3 as her next car. She got mad yesterday cuz I smoked her in her accord and she told me that whenever she gets her next car she'll make sure to smoke me every opportunity she gets!
