Piaa bulbs

has anyone herd about the new piaa platinum extreme bulbs from japan. I see that piaa is now offering a "newer better" bulb even more close to HID quality. If anyone knows anything please feel free to share thanks

I thought piaa xtremes are not as bright as the piaa SUPER PLASMAS... As a matter of fact, I just purchased three pairs of them super plasmas today. 1x H3, 1xH7, and 1xH1s... They cost abit much tho...

the super plasmas are much more blue...cop bait.

the XTREME's from Japan are much brighter and have a lighter bluish hue closer to HID.

There is a difference between the Xtreme's that PIAA USA offers which are DOT approved. Find a shop that offers them straight from Japan...brighter and more blue.

Really?!?! They look pretty bright to me but I have nothing to compare them too except regular halogen bulbs. I do like the color of the Xtreme bulbs better though. Like jimster said not quite as blue, and closer to HID color, which is why I bought them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a list of PIAA bulbs in order of descending color temp:

Super Plasma
Xtreme White
Platinum Extreme
Yellow IION

I only one's I've seen in person are the Xtreme Whites, and let me tell you, they are indeed xtremely white. Fine looking bulbs.

The Plasma Blue bulb is the 5w 168 Wedge Bulb...Part #19171

The Super Plasma features a Plasma Blue low beam, a Super White high beam, and PIAA's XTRA technology.

thanks for the info and correction...i did not know that PIAA does not make plasma blues for headlights. i have the plasma blue wedge bulbs and they are indeed very blue. i thought they were going to be like my polarg turn signal bulbs and have a tint of blue but alas, i was wrong. its just like having blue bulbs as parking lights...which doesnt make me too popular with the cops. already had one ask me about it...luckily i was in NJ at the time and i have FL plates on my car so he couldnt ticket me even if he wanted to (which of course we all know cops just have a hard-on for issuing tickets ).

one question though: if the super plasma's have a plasma blue low beam, then doesnt the color of the beam look similar to the plasma blue wedge bulbs?

I think the plasma blue title is loosely used by PIAA. The Super Plasmas do have a higer concentration of blue in appearance which makes them cop bait as i quoted before.

The XTREME's on the other hand have a slight tinge of blue which makes them look truer to HID's. And with the relative commonness of HID's cops aren't so inquisitive.
