Performance Gain!!
Well, I just got back home and I happen to have traveled by way of highway and I saw this tight corvette zo6 and thought that this would be a good opportunity to test out my new catback exhaust....so anywayz I knew getting into this with the zo6, I was gonna get wasted..but to my surprise, my pickup was much improved since the addition of the catback...so after the zo6 blew past me:o (man thats a sweet ****ing car!!) I felt good in at least knowing that this truly was a performance gain that I could actually feel....my advice to anybody wanting an exhaust is to get a custom made catback with 2 1/4 piping made from a performance shop, rather than a rear section that only makes noise!!...
I went with dual stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers.....street series, mirror finish w/ 4 inch tip...the entire catback system including labor cost me only $410...plus the guy painted the y pipe area hi-temp black to hide it under the car and he welded on a flange so it bolts up to the cat...if i want i could take it off and on...pretty sweet deal!!

its pretty loud in like 4th and 5th gear at low rpm...but in 1st through 3rd gear, its a nice low rumble.....the comptech exhaust is good quality, but its only a rear section with no real performance gain...plus this system was about $250.00 less and looks a whole hell of alot better than comptech.

that exhasut look nice.... so wat is the stock size piping? I wonder, the greddy exhasut for the Accord V6, are they 2.25 inch?? Cuz most muffler shops in houston only have crush bend, instead of mentral(dunno how to spell)bend..... so i wonder would greddy be betteR? If yours is mentral bend than its sure worth all the money.....
Just wondering, why not change the cat while you change the whole piping anyway??? just wonder, but nice exhasut! cuz i do not believe the axle-back exhasut muffer thing either.... I mean, know too big of a piping on a NA car will loose back pressure, but then i am not sure is our factory piping too small..... I think 2.25-2.5 is the best piping for a V6 car.

I thought about changing the cat, but it really only gives you about 1-2 hp gain and I did'nt want to spend $200 on 1-2 hp....I beleive the stock piping is 1 3/4 or 2 inch...I wanted 2 1/2 inch piping but the guy at the shop said I would lose to much back pressure....so I went with the 2 1/4 and it turned out to be perfect...I also removed the stock resonator, so that also frees up the flow and gives a great sound.
