i used regular old paint from ACE hardware, no problems in 25k miles. I would say prep is more important than the paint used, but everyone has their opinion..

you can use any hi temp engine or bbq paint- some like to spray the paint into a disposable cup- then use a foam brush to apply to caliper
prep is everything- use caliper cleaner and wire brush/wheel on drill to rough the surface

I used duplicolor kit for 10 bucks from any parts store- has everything you need except a pack of extra foam brushes- they dry out fast between coats, so a few dollars for a bag of them is a good plan

if your calipers exceed 500-600 degrees you have bigger problems than boiled paint

My friend bought black caliper spray paint from Advance a while back and his calipers look really really good. He painted them in about May and they still shine now like they did after day one.

I used engine part and I need to do them again.

you just have to mask off more and be really careful with spray
With a foam brush its no sweat

I'm doing black. And I am thinking of spraying into a cup and using a brush to do them.

duplicolor comes with a small can of liquid paint- so far I have done 5 sets of calipers and have paint left

buy a 2$ pack of 1 inch wide foam brushes, hardware store has them.
kit contains only 1- which will do 1 coat on all if you work fast
-let it sit a few minutes and it hardens- quick dry paint!!
So a fresh brush for each of 3 coats will give a nice finish that will last

Any nicks incurred during wheel install or on road debris are easily touched up

May as well flush the brake fluid while you have the wheels off- then those calipers will work at their best as well as look good

I would do the brake fluid change then the painting- so you dont spill on fresh paint-

I like black for stealth and fake brembo look- you can see the calipers thru the wheels when in motion

I'm kinda nervous about working with the brakes though, I mean how hard is it? And how much will the proper tools cost?
And, unfortunately they only had the red kit at my local auto parts store, so I picked up the dupli black sparay cans. I am gonna throw down some plastic sheeting over the paint for overspray.

I didn't want to the the calipers off and then paint them, so I bought this:

http://www.amazon.com/Duplicolor-Per...0901802&sr=8-2

Here is the DIY I used from the 3G Garage:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/d-106-painting-rotor-hub-diy-726854/

I did all 4 of my calipers and rotor hubs in about a day. To knock the rust and nasty shit off, I took a wire brush and brushed everything down. Then I was fortunate to have a dremel, and I put that to work. Dust was flying everywhere. Once I sprayed the caliper down with the provided can of cleaner, I wiped it down with a microfiber rag, and got to painting. I did 3 coats on each caliper. It dries in less than 10 minutes per coat.

^The 04-06 6-speed TL's and the 07-08 Type-S's came with the Brembo calipers up front.
