Painted the shift gate

I will have pics later in the week. But the silver was fading and I wanted to do it chrome. But ended up doing it black, looks really classy.

Would you know what color to buy to get it close to factory grey.

If you're talking about the exterior color grey, it's called anthracite. I don't know what company makes paint that will match it, but your best bet is probably to raid the paint department at your local Sears, Meijer, etc.

Best bet would be pick up your phone book and look up your local automotive AUTO PAINTS store. Most of them will put into spray cans any color you want including oem paint codes for around 20 bucks.s

Oh and pics 1st and thread second!!!!

hows my paint holding up? You going to ever get them doors apart and get rid of the wood on them?

dnd2984 is the paint single stage gloss or did you have to spray clear on them?

Ok here is what you do. when its fully cured (if it isnt already) wetsand it with 1500 -2000 grit and get your self some polish and buff it to a shine, If that sounds like too much elbow grease wetsand it with something like 600 to 800 grit now to really smooth it out (being carefull not to sand thru) and respray the clear. You will get a really good shine. Lay the clear on as thick as you can with out getting runs.

Well i used automotive paint and a 500.00$$$ spray gun But you can achieve just as good a shine if you take some time and work at it till you get it the way you want. Yours looks good, just trying to help you get a brilliant shine (which can be done with a spray can)
