It's gonna take u a whole day to do it..count on that ...at least 4-8 hours b/c the paint has to dry inbetween coats and then you gotta do all 4 wheels...it's great if u have a lift, so u can take off all 4 tires at the same time...I did two at a time..

Looks good. Now the rotor REALLY stands out!

My car is still new enough where the calipers still look shiny (cad plated). When that changes, maybe...

Nice!

The blue is interesting.

Looks freaky.

You need to get the blue ZEAL pads now.

You have to improve your masking skills though

Joey, did you tell these people you only painted the two front calipers? The reason was because it started raining. Mind you it was only in the 40s/ windy as hell/ and it started raining. We don't follow directions pretty well.

Soopa, it looked like you used the spray paint since your driveway is red now. What type of paint did you use?

Neil, I haven't done mine yet. Still waiting to see if I should use the spray or brush.

Kenny, I called the place but no one picked up but I will keep trying.

Nice job Joey and appreciate the pics. So, ya spent some more money and went with primer huh? Good choice.

Looks great, just gotta get the back two caliper down now.

By the way, did you use regular sand paper or did you find the metallic sand paper?

you guys all suck. i contemplated on painting my calipers red a few months ago but got flamed real bad calling me rice and crap. aarg! now that i've seen pics, I'm even more convinced that it was the proper route to begin with. but....my approach would of been removing the brake calipers all together and painting it seperately from the car. How would you replace your brake pads? dont you have to take the calipers apart? that would be a perfect time to do so.

Well, I don't want to find out the consequences of taking apart the calipers and not putting it back together correctly...This is the safest bet.

Justin: we sanded it with regular fine grit sandpaper...works the same, I guess..

Remember, it's your car so do whatever you want to it. Don't let other people's opinions discourage you from doing what you want. If that was the case, I am pretty sure your car would still be stock right now.

IMO, it looks really good. I am doing mine soon but still haven't decided spray or brush on.

BTW, you can take out the whole caliper but make sure you know how to put it back on properly. We are doing it the lazy way but it works.

JUST DO IT!!!

Cool. Did you use that caligraph paint? or some other kind of paint? What's a good color that'll match silver? I'm thinking of a mild or a light blue...maybe red.

Cool, Mark..what color did u paint em? u need to upgrade to digi cam already...not that pro 50 shot per second camera you got..

BlueDemon...U just use the tools that came with the car... it's not hard taking off the wheels...btw, how old are you? it seems that u have never worked on the cars before b/c this is the second question u asked about something simple as removing a wheel and installing the tips

Yes I too had skittle colors on my calipers once, but it wasnt doing justice for my Touring Luxury, so I got, not silver, but Aluminum color 600 degrees engine paint and it is holding up well and looks much cleaner than the exact same blue that bdimc has on his calipers....that blue is like a low gloss blue also, wasnt doing it for me...

I can easily put some clear coat on it and it'll fix the low gloss right up...

I guess I'm ready for a second coat of paint and I'm not wanting to go with one of those special kits again. So where do you find this hi-temp paint in silver? I've tried everywhere...Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Where? TIA

Kensteele:

Home Depot sells it... I forget the name.. Something about "Hi-Temperature Enamel Paint" its comes in a white spray can and has a picture of a outdoor grill on it. Anyway Dont use their black because its a very matte charcoal finish. The grey actually matches the finish of the grey powder coating inside the triangles of our rims. The other brand is Plasti-Kote but it leaves to shiny a finish on red/blue/yellow but a nice one on black..... So .. If grey then the home depot stuff cuz it matches very nice, if black then Plasti-Kote (Pep-Boys. most auto stores too)...

Yea...me either, I've never seen it b4 either...don't know if it even exists..

Ed, I'm thinking about redoing it again also when I have time and painting the hub as well...that's what I told Binh and Kenny(Bigmonkey70) who helped me paint the calipers this Saturday, but they said wouldn't it look weird? But yea..I think I will do it...

Ken, Don't spend all that money on the fancy stuff...this works just as good...just make sure u cover up...

What are you talking about? We didn't even talk about painting the hub. I didn't even know it's called a hub. So I did not say it will look weird. As a matter of fact, I am painting mine.
