On friday I changed my tranny fluid and bought a PVC valve. Trying to find the PVC valve I ended up taking the plastic covers off the engine. My car has been in a accident before I bought it and the plastic covers got scratched and gouged in a few places. I went to Ace Hardware and bought black paint and yellow paint...

Mello Yellow!! I painted the outside peices yellow and the inside peice black and the 6 raised peices of the middle plastic on the 99 I'm gonna paint yellow!!. I took the acura emblem off when I did it.

I'm not sure if any of the 2000 and up people know what i'm talking about. The 99 TL engine cover has 6 raised lumps that make it look really cool!! All the 2000 and up people just have a flat cover that I personally don't like.

Anyway, I'm painting the 6 raised peices yellow tommorow and I will post pics very soon.

This is the cheapest fun I have had working on my TL! My options were buy new engine covers totaling around $60+ or $5 in paint and a couple free afternoons. Right now money is tight for me...

 

why did you have to replace the PCV valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve)??

Yea, I've painted my 99 TL engine cover too. I painted it blue but I left the 6 humps alone. Can't wait to see your pics.

 

I just finished the cover. I looks pretty damn good but my car is stock and I badly need a nice crome intake to complement the underhood.

I also just took some pictures and will get them developed tommorow and I will scan them very soon

I am quite happy with the paint job. I just helped my friend install a crappy tape deck from my old 95 accord. He also put some 6 1/2 alpine speakers in his doors(damn mexicans stole his car and striped the crap out of his 90 accord) I told him to get an alarm pronto.

The six yellow humps look really sweet!! I had to use a sharpie permanent marker to make the lines look clean. Masking tape just didn't do it as good as I thought it would come out.

Much better than paying 60+ for new peices!!
next job.... paint calipers!!
