Our family of 3 Acura TL/CL: 7 Transmissions!

Mom has an 01 CL Type S, 80k. She's on her 4th Transmission
Dad has an 03 TL Type S, 85k. He's on his 2nd Transmission
My car is an 03 TL Type S, 104k. I'm on my 3rd Transmission

Dad and I bought our cars at the exact same time, and our transmissions both died last week!

Fortunately, they've all been replaced free-of-charge. We didn't have to push the dealer too hard at all. They ate over $17,000 of parts and labor.

Just goes to show you, Acura dealers aren't all that bad.

Yea props. I hope when I'm 75, my parents are still alive.

I'd want to pass before they do and my kids...all of them will be old enough for me to go.

I was boosted and had a leaking front seal. It blew off and I threw a rod through the block. Got replaced under warranty.

Boosted, as in supercharged? You're lucky if warranty covered that.

Acura has been good to my family as well.

My fathers 1994 Acura Integra LS (auto) had a slipping trans at 60k and they replaced it for free. His 03 TL-S went in for the oil jet recall and they replaced the tranny. My cousins 01 CL-S needed a new trans at 80k. I'm still on my original trans at 71k. We will see what happens.

How funny would it be when they replaced the motor if they left the s/c on the old motor
