Ordered a TSX

Actually we ordered a TSX for my wife. Pearl white, non-nav, automatic. Build date will be 7/17 with delivery from Japan around 8/17. I asked the fleet manager about the 2004 TL and he said they're expecting delivery in October. He said they've been told it will have at least 280HP and be priced in the mid $30's.

We're paying MSRP $26490 +$500 delivery. Demand for the cars is so high they're not dealing on the price. Except for the demo's, every car they had on the lot was either prepped or being prepped for customer delivery. We checked the delivery schedule to see what was coming in and nearly all had been spoken for. At least they don't try to get an extra mark up.

I am still amazed its so popular and that you actually had to order yours.

Good for Acura! I hope the TL doesn't disapoint.

Congrats on your purchase plus give us an update once you have it!

Delivery of the TSX to the dealers is pretty slow. I test drove one a couple of weeks ago just cause I was at the dealer. This dealer supposedly sells about 50 TL's a month. They are only getting 3-4 TSX's a month right now from the factory. So you don't see many on the road because not many are on the market yet.

yeah you are right, the NSX is a dated design nowadays. They must not sell enough of them to warrant updating the program. Heck, i saw a square-box of a car on the road the other day labelled the new "Infinity M45" and even that thing has a 345 hp engine in it.

about the pricing on the TSX, i cant see how thats a good value. They are practically giving away the TL, including the type S now, so for 2k or less that you are paying for the TSX you could get a TL which is larger and has a v6. Sure once the new TL comes out with a price rumored to be in the mid 30's, there will be a bigger gap between a TL and a TSX but for now, the TL seems to be the much better value I've been reading that people are paying 27k for a TLp and 28.5k for a TL-s (both prices are for non-navs)

Acura Sets All-Time Monthly Sales Record

***

Strong Demand for TSX Sports Sedan Continues

~~~
Torrance, Calif. 06/03/2003 --
May sales of Acura vehicles totaled 16,495, setting a new all-time monthly record besting the previous mark of 16,333 units set in August 2002, and surpassing last May's total of 16,229.
Strong demand for the all-new 2004 TSX sports sedan pushed sales to 2,275 units for the month. "It looks like we've hit the mark with the new TSX sports sedan," said **** Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "If initial demand is any indication, customers are drawn to the vehicle's sporty performance and class-leading feature content."
MDX sales of 5,089 units during May pushed Acura year-to-date light truck sales to 23,021 up 3.9 percent compared to last year. Acura division automobile sales totaled 11,406 with sales of the TL reaching 4,883 and RSX sales totaling 2,815 for the month. May sales of the Acura NSX supercar were more than double that of the previous year.
I have been seeing more and more Accords Lately, but Not even one TSX. NOT ONE! So how do they say there selling like crazy?
Guys, we have to realize that the car just came out in April. If the sales are only 2-3000 an month over the entire United States, you are not going to see many of them yet. Shoot, I live in Philly, and there are about 2000 cars alone just in my neighborhood.
was at montclair acura, my dealer in nj, waiting for my car to come out of service the other day and there was a brand new TSX with underbody kit, spoiler, navigation, it looked pretty much fully loaded out. I thought it looked real sharp, and the salesman saw me looking at it and said "wanna take home one of those?", i sarcastically responded, "i'll take two" and then said that the wait was 3-4 months.....not worth the wait IMO!
I hope your wife has good luck with the TSX! I wish I could talk my wife into trading her Accord EX in for one, just so I can drive it occasionally.
funny how you guys don't see TSXs around. I've seen them quite often in my neighborhood, Bethesda/Potomac, MD.
