I love this car!!

Smoked a BMW 323ci today on a straight road on my way to school. We both started at a complete stop, when the light went green, I slammed on the gas and off i went. He trailed me the whole time.

There are way too many posts (many unnecessary) from people who hate their TL-S b/c of some creaks and rattles here and there...

You guys ever been in a 1 year old z06? they rattle all over the place .. but it's still a fast ride, and a cool car...

From a stoplight .. i drop it into 1st gear (gate-shift) .. and then shift at 6800 rpms .. (chirps hard into 2nd gear) .. then I keep doing that 'till I usually reach 3rd and back down ..

However.. if I'm squealing all over the place (hot weather .. low tire pressure) .. I'll ease it into 1st .. then jump on it around 2500 rpms ...

I've had NO luck ever w/ brake torque .. it only makes me 1) wheel hop, or 2) spin real bad ..

Spinning is cool and everything, but it doesn't win any street races...

Why do people turn Traction OFF, I thought traction is good for taking off..

Also why do they turn A/C Off?

There's definitely a correlation. I had my AC on when I ran a friend in his 03 Maxima SE with a Ported Airbox / Intake mod. He walked me steadily to 80mph. When I turned off the AC, we ran again. This time I walked him and by 80mph I had more than a car on him.

I turn my traction off because once the wheels start spinning and your trying to gun it, Traction steps in (like it should) and attempts to bring the car under control taking away my torque when I really need it. I don't know if it's just me but I can't get into the high rpm ranges either while Traction trying to gain control. Great in the rain, but it comes off everytime I'm in the gate, and lining up with someone. A/C has always been a no, no for me while street racing. Especially when I had my Civic, you could feel the difference with it on while trying to street race. Serious lag.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought your cars are designed to temporarily shut down the A/C at (WOT) wide open throttle....Am i wrong?? B/c it seems like the A/C shuts off when ever I gun it!

Yeah, if you turn the a/c on high at 60 degrees and floor it it gets noticably warmer! At least mine does

323s are a joke in a straight but its still fun ain't it! If you want competition go after some V8s...GS4, 540 auto, auto mustang GTs...these would be good races as long as you do it anywhere below 100...afterwards you're toast...even before will be tough! You can also go after some 6s with balls like the Gs, Maximas, 3.5 altimas, Z, and 330. Plenty of good cars out there but a 323 is no comp.

I was on the TP headed North yesterday... Suzuki rocket next to me. We played off and on a bit onto 75 North when I stopped wasting time and started cruising at 90. It finally caught up and hanged on the lane next to me waiting for traffic to open up. (It had RAD on the tail written in big letters, soloseat with a teardrop tail blue and white....) most likely a 600, 'cause my stock 2k2 NBP was right behind it when I heard him drop two gears and open it up... He never got more than three cars away. Too bad there was so much traffic.

THIS CAR IS AMAZING!!!

you lose alot of horsepower when you turn on your a/c on any car. anywhere from 15-30 horse to be exact. thats why i always turn it off when ever i am doing aggresve driving or on the hwy... need the extra pull.

At wide-open-throttle .. the A/C clutch disengages from the engine .. you have full engine power..

Can't believe 2/10th of a sec. is a arguement here!! Actually i've done better than 6.4 or 6.2 for that matter. Been to the track yet?

the mode is not giving traction. i believe its helping the vehicle retain power from the front wheels that are just spinning away.
next time its raining try turning it off when your at a complete stop, then floor it. you'll notice all your power is going to the wheels. now leave on vsa and you will see that the car cuts off power and applies brake to the wheels that are slipping. basically giving you only the power you need, not have.

as far as air condition, when the compressor is on you are taking away the power off the flywheel and not putting it on the wheels because the ac is using another pulley on the belt system. its kinda like taking off the power steering for drag racing.

as you know, even 6.4 is a pretty positive number. 6.2 is a bit quicker than 6.4 obviously, and if he's thinking his car is going to do 6.2 regularly, then he's kidding himself.
