Opak Racing Headers

Does anyone know when these equal length headers are coming out?

According to the following dyno runs on the V6 Accord forum, these headers provide more mid-range hp than the Comptech headers, but they give up a few horses at high RPM's.

Interesting .. up till now, everyone had just been copying CT's design for their headers .. nice to see a NEW DESIGN on the market (or at least soon ... )

These sorts of things usually take months to a year (as had been my experience waiting for the obx headers and the stone racing headers .. both ditto copies of the CT headers)

Here's more info on the headers. Prototype Racing designed the headers and they are currently manufacturing them for Opak Racing. The dyno runs were performed on a 2000 Honda Accord and show substantial gains at around 4000-5000 RPM's. It will be interesting to see dyno results on a TL-S.

I don't know if I'd rather have the power down low ... or up high .. doubt we'll ever see these in full production for TL modders...

Actually, the dyno results suggest that the Prototype Racing headers are better suited for everyday driving, such as freeway passing, and the high RPM HP and torque losses are minimal compared with the Comptech headers. Of course, we have to wait for TL-S dyno results and expert reviews about product quality before we jump to any firm conclusions.

I e-mailed Prototype Racing last night and here's the owners' response:

"The V6 headers I designed will only fit the TL-S up to 2002. The 2003 is a completely different car.
Sorry I can't help you, I doubt I'll be building anything for Honda street cars anymore. I've moved on to more exciting things to occupy my time."

I thought that the 2003 model is identical to the 2002 model.

Any comments?

He's mistaken, the 2002 and 2003 models are exactly the same in terms of the engine. The 2004 model is completely different.

The Opak Racing headers have been "Coming soon" for a long time, I don't know if they'll ever come out.

umm sounds like the guy doesn't know crap. If he designed them, I'll pass.

these have been under development for a while. some people over at v6performance.net have been working closely with them. they will come out eventually, but no one knows exactly when.
