I just got my 03 TL-S yesterday, and when trying to set up the Onstar system, the rep at Onstar said I needed it to take it back to the dealer to get it checked out. Anyone else have problems getting their onstar working?

 

Nope didnt bother when i got mine after I read that it wont be supported after 06 or 07 I got AAA instead it was cheaper plus I have a cell phone

no by the cell companies our systen runs on the analog system and everything is switching over to digital and we cant upgrade here is a cut and paste off the Acura site

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 2003 TL OWNERS ABOUT ONSTAR ANALOG SERVICE TERMINATION:

Since it was launched in 1996, OnStar has relied on an analog wireless network to provide communication to and from OnStar-equipped vehicles. Today, the analog network continues to provide the most extensive coverage across the United States and Canada. However, wireless carriers in the U.S. and Canada have begun to shift from analog to digital networks.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has ruled that wireless carriers, like Verizon and Cingular, will no longer be required to support the analog wireless network as of early 2008. As a result, the analog infrastructure is disappearing in the U.S. Beginning January 1, 2008, OnStar service in the U.S. and Canada will only be available through dual-mode (analog/digital) equipment.

As a result of these actions, Acura and OnStar will no longer be supporting Analog OnStar service as of December 31, 2007.

The turn-off of analog OnStar service to this vehicle includes loss of automatic airbag deployment notification, along with the rest of OnStar’s current services.

Due to the complicated nature of converting to digital technology, Acura and OnStar will be unable to retrofit this vehicle for future OnStar use after the termination date.

Thank you Brad for the post from Acura regarding this. I wanted to at least enjoy the service before they cut it off, guess not though.
I got a black/black 03 TL Type S with naviand good ol onstar that doesnt work lol

 

well you still have 2 years before it goes away

i think its bad that unless you sign up for the Acura owners link you would never know about this and you know onstar isnt gonna come out and tell you about this
