I have used a TL with FF1 it feels horribleeeee... DONT DO IT!!
Now I cant speak for Tein Street Basis but definitely don't use FF1 unless you like a Guetto Ride..

There's no comparison. The TEIN Street Basis coilovers are exponentially better than the FF coilovers in terms of quality, ride comfort, and design.

"Tires, Wheels and Suspension"
This is the appropriate sub-forum to get all the details and facts on coilovers and such.

Ya know that's where you'll get the best info on this topic.

Now what about the FF2 vs. Tein Street Basis? I ask because the FF2 has dampening, unlike the FF1.

I've read here that the Teins don't go that low, and even when lowered to their max, there is still gap, anyone have any input?

I too am looking for new suspension

I hope there isn't a gap when lowered all the way. I'm trying to at least have my fender right to the tip of the tire. Anything past that I don't wanna go. Hopefully the teins will do at least that. Can anyone verify this or confirm this?

You can always go a bigger rim, post pics whenever you can i was interested in the Tein's as well, but not easy to shell out $700

Finally installed my tein basics coilovers today. Definitely gives the car a way better aggressive look.

Here's a quick shot.

Looking good !!!, ya got a nice color to work with. The lip kit will really set the car off along with the lowering.

The wing is a matter of personal preference. Leave it off for awhile as ya may wanna consider something more modern and subtle than the old school spoiler.

Thank you! Yeah that's what I was thinking. Leave the spoiler off for a while. But only other option I c myself putting on there would be the mugen trunk lip. I've been reading on here that it's pretty much impossible to find a real one though. Smh

You still need to break in those suckers!! gave us an update on ride feeling compared to stock TL-S springs...

And about the wing? I cannot live without it IMO makes the car looks more "correct" that low angle trunk is weird thus why I would never remove my wing, even if it makes absolutely no sense in a FWD car haha.

Well the ride with the teins is absolutely amazing. I'm def sold on these and not getting any other brand now. In the past month I've tried 3!! Types I suspension setup. First went with the function forms. Those suckeeedddd but I thought they were defective because I kept getting a loud thump in the rear right strut and bouncyyy. Returned them back and purchased the eibach and koni yellows. It rode impressive but still didn't do or for me. Plus I needed a tad but lower than the ride height it gave me. Then I just pulled the trigger on my last and third suspension and bought these. Couldn't ask for better!! Low enough for me and smooth enough to enjoy the car with my girl. Unlike the function forms! Lol. So this should help anyone with their choices. Lol

The teins gave a really nice drop. Don't like to slam just cover the fender gaps. So fender is at the tip of the tire just the way I like it

Did you just piece your lip kit together, or did you find somewhere to buy it?

Tein are better quality for sure, but FF gets you low..

You could always get shorter springs for the basic, but I still don't think it drops low enough.

I am not about that slammed life. Don't like to have to watch every bump in the road and cracks. The height my car is at is te lowest I would ever go. Any changes would be to make the car higher. It's only this low because it's getting nicer and warmer out. When it gets colder and starts that snow I'll raise it right back up. Lol.

I don't know about other companies, but I know tein offers a overhaul services for their coils. It has nothing to do with warranty, you just tell them what service you want done and they price you accordingly. If a company doesnt offer a repair service, I guess you just buy a new one.

For those asking about how low the teins go, the SA goes pretty low. I'm 3 threads from the bottom on the front and im tuckin tire, I'm tuckin on the rear too and I still have like half the threads left if I wanna go lower. There is no finger gap on any fender. It won't slam your car, but you could be right at that point. However, for those who do want to slam on teins, you can purchase shorter springs for the front from tein.
