OMFG!!! Stupid ACURA!!

Well, as some of you may know, I picked up my WDP TL-S on Friday.....I have about 140 km (~88 miles) on it and I'm already having problems w/ it:

1) The fog lights didn't light up when I turned the headlights on
2) The sub doesn't put out anything....and I don't mean the bass is low, there is literally nothing coming out of it
3) There's this bar in the seat that's sticking out and digging into my lower back
4) There's something loose near the driver's area
5) The right rear window rattles...just like my other TL
6) The rear view mirror has some kind of mark on it....it looks like there's a scratch but it's not on the surface
7) The leather on the back of the two seats by the headrests doesn't look like it was pulled tight before it was stitched together

What the F*** is wrong with Acura? Do they think they can justify making squeek/rattle-filled cars with the relatively low price of our car? It's true that you cannot find a car that offers the same amount of power and features for less money, but still. Well, that's it....thanks for reading through my rantings.

sorry, no sympathy for you

you had a TL and had problems. you bought another TL and complain that you have problems?

if you read this board at all, and I assume with your post count that you do, you'd know that they Type-S owners have the same problems that we 99-01 owners have.

Anyway, I do hope you get your problems fixed.

I wasn't looking for sympathy....just felt the need to "rant, rant, rant".....and thanks. What baffles me is that Acura claims to do inspections before the car leaves the factory. Well, at least the engine didn't go fubar.

I understand. I have a LOT of the same issues everyone has but ranting becomes exhausting. I just b!tch and moan to Acura when I take the car in.

I've had my seat rails on the driver's side replaced 4 times already due to horrible squeaking and they're getting replaced again next week (or when the parts come in).

I feel sorry for you dude. By all means take it back to the dealer and get them to fix all the problems.

Didn't you do a pre-delivery inspection? Always inspect your car inside out before you take its keys.

I also have many problems like the rest of you. But doesn't seem like Acura cares. When I bring back the car every month, they never treated me differently, looked at me as something I am supposed to do. And they don't even remember my face. I've made around 7 visits in 5 months

Anyway, I have posts enough complains here. One thing I get out of going there every month.... I make sure I get free car wash every time!!!! &#$%

They don't bother to check for other problems, only fix what I told them. So every time I gave them one problem to fix and wash my car.

This is the only way to make me feel better.
I think it's fair for me.

Before I signed the sales agreement, I went through my car with a fine tooth comb and a list of problems that other members had with their new TL's to make sure mines was free from any evident defects. As Daverman said you should've doen a PDI before taking delivery...would've saved you from these hassles.
Good luck with the repair.

Re: OMFG!!! Stupid ACURA!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I know you've had a TL before, but just in case:

1) The fog lights didn't light up when I turned the headlights on
Did you depress the fog light switch?

3) There's this bar in the seat that's sticking out and digging into my lower back
Did you adjust the lumbar support?

I agree... I have owned 10 other Hondas and I have never had problems that any me. Maybe tiny little things dont bug me, maybe I dont expect perfection from a $30K car. I figure I am driving the best car in its class and I KNOW I would have more problems / different problems owning any other car.

Sorry to hear about all your problems.
Definitely take it back to the dealer and demand that they fix all these problems for you.

BTW, I am one of the lucky few that don't have a lot of major problems. I've only had minor problems that was fixed under warranty.

Sorry to hear that~! This car is an Acura. People believe it should have the quality, but it doesn't.

Ive had my car for 2 weeks. The car went back to the dealer twice already. MY CAR HAS MORE PROBLEM THAN YOURS. I am not kidding. It includes all your problems plus the driver's door rattles and it doesn't shut right(always loose), bad paint job, sponges sticking out the driver's window seal, and the trunk is uneven.

I am totally pissed. Cause the dealer refused to fix some of the stuff cause them claimed that it's normal. They even gave me an excuse to check the dodge dealer next to them and check the build quality the Dodge cars have. Argggggh~!

I HOPE YOU GET YOUR PROBLEMS FIXED SOON. GOOD LUCK~!

Now that's what i call bad service. They actually compare their car to a POS???? That's funny. Most likely Acura won't be on my shopping list next time. Both their quality and service start to get worst.

Did you test drive this car before completing the sale? Why would you accept this car? When I purchased my 2000 TL, I refused the first one because the dash was not correctly aligned. The second one has been perfect!

the bar I'm talking about is below the lumbar support.

And yeah, I should have checked it before taking it away, but I had a haircut appointment and I was already late.....story of my life.

2) The sub doesn't put out anything....and I don't mean the bass is low, there is literally nothing coming out of it

Did you try adjusting the bass setting on the radio?

again...I'm not that dumb......I still gotta go to the dealer to try to resolve this, but I realized I can't drop off the TL-S until next week because I'm taking the TL in on Thursday for my next service plus they still gotta fix a couple of things.

it was bad enough being in the regular TL rattle club...but now I'm also in the TL-S rattle club too? Well, hopefully after I drop off the TL on thursday, it'll come back rattle- and squeak-free.
