oil question?

So usually when i do an oil change i put in 4.4L or (4.6qts), but this time i bought the 5L can (5.3qts) and i put the whole thing i was in a hurry and didn't check the dip stick and i don't have the car rite now so is the extra 600ml really going to damage the engine? plus i changed the filter also.

You should be okay with that much over. most mechanics just pour it in without caring it is always over the limit line and I didn't see it was a problem. Repeatedly doing so could be a problem.

I will go with 5 QTS being ok, as the TL does use a slight amount of oil in the 7500 miles

5 LITERS- 5.3 qts- NO
open the drain plug and let some back out
A few MM over the full line is ok but not that much over
The problem is fluid gets frothed by crankshaft when its too high- kills oil

the lower hole on the oil dipstick is the lowest is should ever be allowed to get down to
Normal fill is 4.6-4.7 qts with a filter
that will put it right at the upper- FULL dot
the .3 QT extra is not a problem as I said-
but you are talking about .6 qt over so yes, drain a bit out- wont take but a minute to do

I am not aware of the TL having a seperation plate for the crankshaft to oil,
just the oil pickup in the pan like a normal car is in there

DONT way overfill it!!

7500 miles is what acura has the maitenance required light programmed for on usa cars- If you reset at oil change it will remind you starting at about 6000 miles, until 7500 it comes on steady and you change oil- reset light/reminder
If you live in `extreme conditions` you may need to change sooner, or certain oils allow you to go longer intervals too
Consult your owner book to know for sure

For some a easier way might be to pull the oil filter off and drain it then replace it start the car shut it off and recheck it. Trying to let just a little out of the drain plug could get really really messy.
