oil jet kit

Who has good and bad things to say about the oil jet kit. I have 35K miles on the trans, it feels fine but i'm wondering if I should take it in for the inspection.

I don't think it does a damn thing. I was at the dealer the other day and the service mgr told me he has seen at least 3 come in 1,000 miles after the kit was installed with failures. The only thing I would worry about is if you don't do the recall and it does go out on you down the road a bit, they may not honor the tranny failure, or least give a hard time about it anyways..

you guys need to do a little searching before you start posting (sorry for saying it) but this has been discussed MANY times

there are 2 issues with the tranny. the oil jet only fixes 1 of them. the other one will not benifit from the jet kit, and is teh reason they upped the warranty to 100k. you would want to get the jet kit. the part that that protects from failing, is a major one. if it fais the tranny locks up (no downshifting to other lower gears) LOCKS UP due to failure and breakage (its the 1-2% failure rate that was found to be bad tranies in their report)

The oiljet bolt on does nothing but cause a tranny failure. Me, my father, and 3 of my friends (TL and TL-S) all had tranny failures within 1 month of this lovely "fix". Mine lasted 1 1/2 weeks, my father's lasted 2 weeks. My 3 friends' lasted from 2 -4 weeks after that oiljet crap was bolted on.

The replacement tranny supposedly has the oiljet built in instead of bolted on.
