Oil in Intake Manifold

I'm cleaning out my intake mainfold and IAC and I noticed that there is oil inside my intake manifold. Is this normal? I have pics but don't know how to post them. If someone tells me how, I will.

Cheers,
Roshan

I'm not saying this is the cause but it is possible for there to be some oil residue in the IM due to the PCV system. The PCV valve is a "positive crankcase ventilation" valve. It removes blowby gasses from the crankcase and reroutes them to the intake manifold where they are sent through the engine to be burned. So it is possible for some oily residue to be there.

it is common to have some oil in your IM, do not be alarmed, just clean it out.

Are you sure you weren't referring to your intake manifold gasket eating, GM 3.4L V6?

As for pictures, try www.flickr.com.

you can put in inline filter to seperate the oil as the air recirculates. alot of guys with cobra's, roush's, lightnings, harely trucks do this b/c that oil blows right on our intercooler clogging it up. very cheap, you can get it at walmart or lowes or home depot, about $6, made by whiteman campbell, used for air compressors. if you use synthtic oil, take out the white thing on the inside.

To my disappointment, my IAC was pretty clean. I've had idle problems for a while now and recently, my car has been stalling when starting a hot engine. I will try to replace it as recommended by a few members of this website. I found two websites that have this part:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...VE_SET_%28%29#

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...prddisplay.jsp

I was going to order it from acuraoemparts because it's a few buck cheaper. Before I do, I wanted to make sure this is the right part. Can someone confirm this?

Cheers,
Roshan
