Question Which OIL do you use?

Just wondering which oil brand everyone's using.

I'm currently running on Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 5W-30, changed @ every 2,000 miles.

I use Mobil 1 also, 0w-30 or 5w-30. I change oil and filter every 3,000 miles.

Also use Mobil1 5W-30. My car is 00 Accord V6. Changed every 7500 miles.

I also put Mobil1 5W-30 in my 95 Accord LX every 7500 miles from the car was new. 120000 miles and not a single problem. Compression is still within spec, too.

I use Redline synthetic oil. 5W-20 for the winter and 5W-30 for the summer. They are a bit pricey but I can't help myself:o.

Planned on changing it every 6000 miles but started feeling uncomfortable not changing it, so I wound up draining it a few days ago at 5400 miles (since last change) exactly 4 months.

I use Castrol 5W-30 every 3000 miles and I have a 99 TL. Still running like new.

I did not know that Redline made a 5w-20, can you tell me where you bought your 5w-20 at?? I would like to buy a few cases of it. Redline stuff is pretty hard to find.

Thankx

Is the Tri-Synthetic 5W-30 the same as the SuperSyn 5W-30?

Thanks,

-Tom

I was using Mobil1 5w-30 Synthetic with a PureOne filter... from now on I will be using Redline 5w20 with the Mobil1 filter. I change the oil every 5k.

Hangman - If you contact Redline, you can order the 5w20 from them. It's not on their site for some reason, but they do have it....

Actually, I ordered it from Redline themselves. I forgot their number but go to their web page and get the contact info.

Call them up, they will take credit cards. Redline 5W-20 is allot harder to find yet on local store shelves.

Make sure you don't order their "Race Oil"

I use Redline 5W30 in my Lexus w/ Mobil 1 filter. I also ordered it from Redline directly b/c it was $8/quart cheaper than what the local dealer wanted:wow:
I have no problem leaving it in there for a year - I usually travel about 10K miles.

Redline 5W-20. Readily available through my local auto parts stores. One day shipping from the Redline factory. $76 a case of 12 last time I ordered. I'm changing every 7,500 miles since I don't push my TL-S very hard.

Hey, I'm not totally against changing the oil every 2K miles but if you're gonna change it that frequently you might as well use dino oil. Sure, it's your choice and all, but I wonder what added advantage there would be in changing oil at such short mileage intervals using synthetic oil that dino oil couldn't provide.

What he didn't tell you was that they'll only change it for free every 10K miles during those 3 years!

My dealer (Rallye Acura) didn't even tell me about that. I wouldn't have taken in nonetheless...
