Today, I got a big fight with my wife cuz a big deep scratch with dent. She ran into a mail box and hit it hardly. It's been only 5 days after I bought a new Black TL-S after the accident. It is only 250 Miles on. The scratch is very very deep and big. it is more than 2 feet from above Gas Door to rear door handle. A long long deep deep scratch. Should I say a dent? YES YES.... It has dent too. It is too deep I can see the metal part on body. I will go dealer to get an estimate tomorrow. It will cost me at least $900 to $ 1500 probably cuz rear door and rear fender(?) need to be replaced(I guess?).

Any advice? better place for painting & body job? Near Atlanta

I have nothing to offer but my sympathy. That has got to suck big time.

Try to take it easy on your honey. She probably feels like sh*t already and all the yelling in the world isn't going to make that scratch disappear. Besides, if you're a big meanie to her she won't feel obliged to "make it up to you"

 

Sorry to hear about the mishap. You do have full coverage insurance right? Well, that's what it's for!

 

Hey. My word of advice is go give your wife a big hug, apologise to her and be thankful she is still around...

Just separated from a 16 year marriage and it sucks being back in the single life again..... even with the possibility of meeting up with a pretty 29 year old Swede in the near future..( a long long story).

I agree... she probably feel worse than you think... give her a hug.... Car is nothing compare to a live human being... The Car got FKed up, BIG DEAL.... at least you still have your wife, and she's alright....

Ditto; it sucks that your car got damaged, but no need to get into a fight with your wife over it. Heck, my wife put a long scratch on the front bumper; sure I was a bit disappointed inside that my car was no longer in pristine condition but I didn't lose my cool over it. There are worse things in life that could happen to you than a scratch/dent to your car...

Bite the bullet and get it fixed. Material things are temporary, but the wife can be a life time deal. Go and say 'I understand, you are right, I am sorry'. At least that's what most of my married friends say.

Take the advice of the wiser people, hug the wife. A divorce will cost you more then the $900/1500. Trust me, it took 3 to get the right one, I married a divorce attorney.

if he divorces her, I'm guessing he's gonna have long nights of crying....not because of her, but because she's gonna take his car.

hook2tl : here is the deal. My cousin who is Portuguese and lives in Brazil was in Sweden, met this 28 year old working in the hotel he was staying in. I had told him to find me a Brazilian but I wanted pretty and blond. So, he talks with this girl and gets her e-mail. We are beginning to communicate via e-mail. Well, my cousin & wife decided to visit me in Seattle on the spur of the moment. We were at Costco and his wife stops to point out this girl with long blond hair and gorgeous. She says that the Swede is exactly like her but blonder... Can you say "raging 4x4"....

It may take a while to get her here for a visit but I am not sure that you guys are really old enough for an update...

Have also talked with cousin to find me a cutee from Portugal to come stay with me here and help "housekeep". I have a preety big house and am getting behind in housework. Has to be from Portugal as they do not visa to get into the States. Brazilians do.

OK Thanks for all sympathy. I did what you guys told me to do. I said to her I am sorry. So our relationship is back to normal luckliy, but what about my poor TL-S. I had an estimate $989.00 plus 5 biz days a rental car from Acura Bodyshop. My ins. deductable is $500. So I better pay it from my pocket cuz I do not want Ins. Premium goes up. Also, I do not want to see the scratch every time pumping up gas.

Interesting.....i was at the local portuguese meat store today to look at the lovely portuguese girl working the chorizos for me behind the meat counter. Damn...it was fresh and moist...the chorizos, i mean.....i see u like Portuguese delicacies too...

 

February of 95 I bought a turbocharged Talon with a 5 speed. My girlfriend couldn't drive a stick and I sure wasn't about to teach her. Well, we ended up married and now have a five year old. She drives a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. We needed something with more room than the Talon, and we needed an automatic for the times she would drive it. I got the Type S the first part of September, and guess what . . . I still can't bring myself to let her drive it!

 

hooked2tl : you had better come meet up at the next meet. I come across once a month to help my parents. Father lives in Coquitlam and mother is in a nursing home in Port Moody.
