Off the wall, but is it possible?

I've got a 2003 TL with 276k on the clock, and want the manual transmission.

I was thinking a k20 or k24 swap, maybe even an f or H series. I know there's the j32 cls swap, but I was just thinking. (no I am not a teenager obsessed with Honda 4 cylinders, this is a legit question)

I figure since our cars are built on an accord frame, an f23 should mat right up, and then building it beyond that. Just curious as to what you guys think.

there's NO logical reason to do this.

Eh, I know, I was just curious. I figure it's way easier to build a k to 350-400whp than it is to make it out of a j32. You pretty much have to boost it to get that kind of power, I'm sure.

^you'd have to boost both to get that power.

but it would be easier to boost the current engine instead of replacing it with a K24.

because the TL's only came in J32 variants, we dont even know if the 4 cylinder will mount up.
im sure there are aftermarket companies that sell fabricated mounts for this specific application, however; it just sounds like TOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUCKING WORK, when you can just boost the J32 already in the car.

I think the saying "work smarter not harder" applies here.

As quoted from K20a.org:
""400 whp n/a can cost over 25,000 dollars and it will not be street friendly, At All. and you would be running race gas all the time.""

I bet yah even with that kind of power the K24 will not be doing the Torque of a Stock J35... POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO Comes to mind here.
The J Series will pull harder and give you better results than any K Series Engine... This is a TL btw, Not a Civic.

A K is too new to make any sort of sense to swap in, as well. There is one 6th-gen Accord guy that swapped in a K. Lot of custom work. H-swaps are the most popular 4-cylinder swap, and considering the similarities with the 2nd-gen TL I would assume an H22 or something would be... the least illogical choice.

^my neighbor swapped a K24 in his accord, but the accord came with a 4 cylinder already.

so the mounting points were pretty much the same

Swapping in a 4cyl would be very easy. The TL is an accord afterall. The accord came in manual and a 4cyl. Can it be done? Sure, but the question is why? You could drop in a CLS-6 trans and a J35a3 and throw a turbo on it running low boost and make more torque and hp than a k swap for much less money

J series is a significantly cheaper route, and with the weight of the car you will want that torque.

K series would definitely be a unique build but an expensive one at that, the only K I would do would be the K24 since it's already in a bigger chassis such as the TSX.

F20/F22 would be A LOT of work especially with it being RWD.

H, no. IDK anyone that does H swaps anymore. Really old tech right there.
