Does anyone remember the guy who sold OEM body kits for our cars for under $400. I believe he is an Acura mechanic who has a shop somewhere in Georgia. Thanks in advance!

yeah i got my kit from there. his name is J. Dewey Kinchen, a real nice chap! i got mine for under $400, painted and shipped.

 

Where is he from, and its all 4 pieces? Are they urethane? I am interested in the OEM Bodykit, can you give me more info on that guy?

Hey guys.. just ordered my OEM body kit from Tim @ Ray Laks Acura. He's very nice to deal with. Price was $829 (included shipping, but not NY sales tax which tacked on another $75 (but I couldn't get away with that). Should be here in a few days.. will post pics.

 

Yeah!! I Got and installed the kit yesterday!! I waited for about two weeks form Hondacura, it finally came!!
The installation took me almost 3 hours and it's not difficial at all.
Some of you might notice that the kit didn't come with any instructions. Don't freak out, just ask dealer or in my ablum, I attached pdf files. Good Luck all of you!!

Cool man, I got my kit installed yesterday as well ... Makes the car look really nice.

Note for anyone interested in the OEM Body kit, the 99-01 kits are the ones that run under $400. The 02-03 kits are still going for about $830 from Ray Laks (cheapest I've found). Just so you know, the kits for all models 99-03 have been discontinued so finding the kits is getting harder and harder. From what I understand, SSM kits are completely sold out but Tim from Ray Laks has been repainting them for free to SSM if thats what you need.

After I heard it was discontinued I decided to hurry up and get the kit since I don't know if I'll be able to get it later.

Definitely Man!! The TL with the kit looks prefect!! $829 is the cheapest I ever get.
I also asked Tim about the discontinued of 99-03 bodykit, he said still carrying!! Don't worry guys who still want to get the kit. :P

Well, I've been doing research about the 99-01 TL body kit. I found there is a website called Autopartspeople which PISSED ME OFF(Don't go there!!) . They claimed that their kit is only 400, so without any thought, I ordered!! Guess What, they never contact me even I send them over 10 e-mails and I waited two months for nothing, and finally they cancelled my order for no reason!! :sqnteek: What the HELL?!

 

The $400 kit..is this OEM Acura accessories, or some clay mold.. That sounds way to cheap..are they hot? Geez.

 

They said is OEM, but only few choices of color.
If I were you would never deal with them!!

 

My kit shipped yesterday.. should have it by Tuesday the latest..

I heard to install the front skirt, you need to drill into the front bumper.. is this true???

 

for the 02+ kits, yes u do need to drill. not for the 99-01's though.

 

ight here is what im doing.

acurapartspeople.com finally emailed me back after a month and they said they will sell it for 399. shipping is 140 and if u want them to paint it to ur color its another 140. but their service sux so im not gonna get it from there.

acura of athens (Dewey, accessoryman@charter.net or whatever) - they only have the sideskirts no front or back lips.

currently i have one of my "people" calling every dealer from NY to VA. as soon as he is done, ill post what's up

Why did they charge you another 140??
Shipping should be only 15 bucks(as my order shown) if I remembered correct.
You paid almost 700??

 

Because the kits are now discontinued, they only have a select colors left. so if you wanted another color, they would have to paint it for you.
