I don't know if maybe I am misunderstanding your question but you can get a fram or STP one too from autozone. I was using the K&N drop in but heard bad stories of how they let too much stuff in. Besides Its like 50, save like another 100 and you can get a AEM cold air intake. Just my .Then again the tranny may die before the K&N does any real damage so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I have had a KN for that last 4 years. I use to have a AEM CAI and went back to my factory air box with the resonator off, didnt make much of a differ. I want to get rid of my KN because I also hear so much bad shit about them. Also I find a lil dirt on my TB.

Yeah I would just get an OEM one from autozone. I had a K&N too and with my type S it did not fit all that great.

K&Ns arent bad for your car and dont let too much thru. The bad things you hear is people who have OVER OILED them and mess up their mass air flow sensors. We dont have to worry about that, We dont have MAF's

yes. Im sure if you use a whole can on the filter that much oil may start coatig things in teh intake but i duobt it will do any thing. Even so if you use that much you should have issues.
