OBD II Scan Tools

Anybody used one of these before? It sounds like it would be nice to have to know what is going on with your car?

This is just one example I found.

Some guy over at the CL site has the setup in his car. It looks pretty cool.

I have the set up in my CL-S. Its pretty fun to play with. Just know that it is for diagnostics use only, so you can't write anything to the computer. I bought the software & connector from http://obd-2.com/ for $142. I can also read GMs & Fords (not that I would ever want to :P)

Here are a few lousy pics of my setup

mantis,

$142 isn't bad. Have you actually diagnosed any problems with it or just displayed sensor readings?

I haven't actually diagnosed any problems yet. Everytime something on my car screws up, I'm less than a mile away from the dealer. I end up dropping it off before I can diagnose anything.

It reads a lot more than just error codes though.
