o2 sensor question

well, I just got my new headers installed and the dude said that the previous installer messed up my o2 sensor and suggest me to get a new one. He told me not to go cheap with my coice of o2 sensor. i really dont know much bout the o2 sensors so my question is, should I just get one from the dealer, there is 2 from ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHOLE...spagenameZWDVW
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DENSO...spagenameZWDVW

or is there a site where I can buy the OEM o2 sensor for sheaper than dealer. Any info is much appreciated. THANKS!

How was it "messed up"? Are you getting an error code?

To abnswer you question, the treads from the o2 is stripped. I guess the previous installer wasnt careful with it. So when I put on the new headers we kind couldnt put the o2 sensor in there since my homie didnt wanna stripe it any more. So I had to take it to a shop to tac weld it for tempoary solution. They suggest I get a new 02 sensor and emphaize that I dont get a cheap one. That is why I ask if anyone know a cheaper place to get an o2 sensor or dealer or stick with my best friend EBAY. Anyone have more info please chime in

Try oxygensenors.xxx. That's where I purchased mine (both front and downstream) for $158.98 shipped. Both are Denso's.

Don't you have a Type-S??

The second eBay auction is for the UA4 model. For the UA5, Denso lists 234-4727 as the OE replacement.

I just stick with the good old OEM.

What kind of transmission do you use, Kris? I mean, you've gone through so many trannies, you should buy stock in the company that makes them.

I'm seeing a pattern here...

The lesson of the day is... OEM sucks. Always modify.

Goto densoproducts.xxx, get the part number 234-4727 (front). It's about $89 w/out shipping. If you can find it cheaper else where, get it from there. It's less expensive at denso than oxygensensors for my sensors.

Guys, you don't want to try Bosch? I figure they make a decent O² sensor since they pretty much invented them.

When I had my CT headers installed, I wanted to start from a clean slate and put new O² sensors in. I went with Bosch OE replacements and the car runs perfectly.

You can get an OEM one for cheaper than that from Tim at Ray Laks, I'm sure.

And AutoZone quoted me something like 139 plus tax for a Bosch one. Puh-lease.

THanks for all the inputs. Where can I look up qutoe for the bosch? I saw the mo n a site but I cant find it anywhere. The Denso ones are around $90. SO if the bosch is cheaper for the same qulity then I just might go with bosch but if not I am content with the denso one.

Jeez, it's been a while since I bought them. I got them online somewhere. However, I think I still have the boxes that they came in; if I can find them, I'll post the p/ns. They weren't outrageously expensive either, I do recall they were competitively priced.
