Looks good. It almost looks like you have bottlenecking at the muffler flanges. I can't tell for sure.

No, it goes from 2.25 to 2 1/8 its not bad (it looks that way because its flared to fit over the 2.25 pipe. Compared to the crappy stock stuff this is going to flow!

Seems to me that you are the one taking everything way too serious. Sarcasm doesn't really show through text on a forum but I'm assuming that you aren't catching on to it here much... If you honestly think that you are the only one who jokes around when complaining about stuff like this then you have much to learn.

Ok got it all welded up and i can honestly say it makes a HUGE difference in power. The old TL-P exhaust was definitely a bottlekneck for the exhaust. It pulls much harder now and i can get them to spin good into 3rd now.

Sound, its got a deep tone (a little too deep) at idle to 2k, then the sound becomes really nice (though about 6k there is a little rasp? Im not sure if its the other muffler breaking in or not. It seems to be going away though. If there were a little more room i would throw a 14" resonator in there.

Do you think the added power is more due to the cat delete rather than the piping size and/or diameter?

Id say almost with out a doubt its the pipe size. The TL-P comes with 2" pipe and there is a 3' section thats flattened out to go under the axle. Why they did that?? There is plenty low end (i dont think i lost a bit, if any thing gained, and high end just rips now

I think it has a lot to do with removing the cat..... I dont have a cat, and seriously this car is fast.... so I have an idea of what your talking about.... I dont have the exhaust setup you now, but I am using a TL-S exhaust..... if its any different than a Tl-P exhaust.

I know there is some difference not having the cat because ive removed it before for track days, but it just seems to pull harder. Ill find out in a week or so, there is a stretch of road ive kinda measured performance of my car on. With the 6 speed im a solid 20mph faster than when i had the 5 speed. I know how fast i can get to a specific mark, so i should be able to tell if im getting there faster

You must take a video of this and post it on YouTube. I wanna hear the sound. It probably won't sound like it does in person but I'd still like to hear it.

I believe it. Especially with the cat delete and killing off the crappy Y at the muffler split, this is DEFINITELY going to let your engine breathe. Nice job man.

Kris, are you using the stock mufflers in the back? Nice work on the fabrication. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to make a custom exhaust? Maybe it will inspire more members to do this instead of buying cat-back exhausts. Seem's this one actually makes a difference. You should def get that car on a dyno and tuned. Thumbs up.

Do I win a prize? Thats just what I pictured. The shop where I got my dyno with the SC told me I should do 3 inch aluminized piping to free up some backpressue. They said they did an altima 3.? and the gains were amazing. I am curious how it shows on the dyno.

Do you think if I got a highflow cat, and then went with straight piping 3 inch all the way to universal mufflers, I could get the same results as what you did?

Sorry couldn't edit , one more ?

What made you put the resonator so far up the line, does that create a lot of noise underneath the front cabin?

Ok, Ok, don't tell my wife, but here I am on my vacation in Florence Oregon doing some file maintenance on the camera disc's at the BestWestern's computer station. crackurazine here I come!

So, bigger picture. It seems somewhat evident that you are freeing up flow. We all know there are gains to be had from that. However, do we think that you would do this for just a simple mod? NO. You are simply preparing for what you want to breathe though it better. You are modifying your current setup only to change something else that will have Large gains from the free flow (things that would actually NEED the flow.) What else is on the "dockett?"

We all see what you are up to now, what are you up to soon?

(Nice job on the exhaust btw )

good work man! i was thinking about a custom exhaust for our tl's along the lines of the ATL-p exhaust that the 3rd geners have. this seems like it may provide serious gains. i hope you agree to test it and answer the questions about the difference in power with and w/out the cat

Cost was about 270 for the muffler and all the mandrel bent pipe. It will be tuned eventually. As for the dyno, yea i should have done a before run to know. I can always throw the stock pipe back on when that time comes. I have comptech mufflers

Now there's an idea! Just make sure they don't block the view of the exhaust.
