So the disk I have in the dvd unit in the trunk is from 1999? least I think. So I found that there is an update 2013? "2013 Black DVD Map Update v2.A0" Few questions, if my nav has not been updated since stock, does this dvd update all the years prev up to 2013? Also since this dvd from acura is $99 which I could buy a standalone GPS for the car is there a cheaper way to update it?

While a standalone is probably faster and more intuitive these days..
If I had the NAV in the TL I would do what ever it takes to make it work as There is nothing more retarded than seeing a standalone GPS on top of a NAV screen regardless of year odds are they both will take you to from point A to B.

99 Navi are hard drive. So if you have DVD-Rom in your 99 that mean someone upgrade your navi system. I did the same time about 8+ years ago.. Your better off keeping your $100 then going for update disco
