Nothing but problems...
Hey guys... I posted here a few weeks ago about a stalling problem and just listen to the bs that I am going through. We brought the car in one day about 3 weeks ago and they claimed it was the throttle body so they cleaned it and I got it back the next day. The car still stalls.... so we bring the car back on Monday, April 28 and when we brought it in they had the Acura rep of NY there to make sure everything will be fixed, her name is Amy. So after getting the run around for a few days they tell us that they have no idea why the car is stalling, they have never ever seen this before. They are telling us some bs that they will be driving with the computer in the seat next to them, the car will stall and the computer will show no reason why it did. First of all I really dont give a **** whats wrong with it, I should not have to be dealing with this, that is why I leased a brand new car. So next step... we get on the phone with the corporation in CA. Id like to also mention this is leased from Plaza Acura in BK and someone in my last post said that was a bad move from the start. So the acura corporation gets on the phone with them and tell us that they didnt even notify the corp. that something was wrong. He also tells us that they have NEVER heard of this problem before, they sent a mechanic from CA to NY to try and fix this and they still cant. I took delivery on April 14, which is 4 weeks ago Monday (it is Sunday right now). Monday will be 15 days that they have this car and I only had it for 13 days. The car has stalled from day one. We want a new car because this is absolutely ridiculous. The Acura rep of NY is the only one that can authorize this, and she told someone at the dealership that they are not considering this... that they want to fix the car and offer us something in return. This is absolute bull**** and I regret leasing an Acura in general and from this stupid dealership... but its not only the dealership with terrible customer service, its the whole corporation. Can anyone tell me what the next step I can take in this matter? My dad told them on Friday that they have to let us know what they are going to do by Monday or else we will take the next step, and honestly I am not sure what that will be... if anyone can help me out that would be great... thanks

First off, I remember your thread on here. You told us "It's not a big problem and it doesn't bother me much". Well, I guess it is.
So let me get this straight. The first time you took it in, they cleaned the TB. Stalled again, so you took it in for the second time, correct? Well, when they give you the car back this time, wait 'til it stalls again, and take it in for the third time. Then contact a lawyer and have Acura buy it back under the Lemon Law. In fact, you might not even have to wait for the third time, if a brand new car (literally) is stalling and Acura-certified mechanics don't know how to fix it. Sounds like the last car to roll off the factory line Friday afternoon.
Give them another chance, and see what happens. If not, contact a lawyer and see what your options are. Good luck.

Hey thanks for replying... they are now telling me it is the compute and I will be able to pick it up on Thursday. And yes, I did say "its not a big deal"... pretty stupid of me. Honestly if its just the computer its not THAT big of a deal, its just these idiots dont know how to fix it, they have been on the phone non stop with the corp in california.. oh well thanks for the post

It all depends on the dealership. C'mon, even though they say that they are certified acura (or any other brad)technicans/mechanics doesn't mean much because they just get info to replace this or adjust that from the car computer and acura service repair software. If your car seems to just die after you start it or die at the stop light, I had that problem before. They replaced the throttle position sensor and that did the job. The mechanic said that he replaced a couple already. Basically, the electronics went bad but did not register on the car comp. Cleaning the TB on a new car is full of bs for stalling.
good luck

Hope you got it all taken care of...must have sukked. I had similar problem with a Ford Explorer and they replaced everything and still couldn't find the problem. I ended up selling the POS Explorer and getting my TL-S. I know how aggravating it is when the dealership cannot fix the problem.
BTW, if they are dragging their feet, just start mentioning your lawyer and the lemon law and I bet they get on the ball...

hey thanks for the help guys... well we told them that Monday (yesterday) is the deadline before we take real action and they said that they have replaced the computer and it seems to be fine... we cant pick the car up until Thursday anwyays so they better extensively test it. If they call us and it stalls again then we are going to take legal action because today is #16 that they have it and we only had it for 13 days. They also gave us a brand new non type s tl to use for a loaner and this engine has taken a BEATING... a well deserved one. If its not the computer I am going to ask them about the throttle position sensor because thats exactly whats happening, its stalling and giving no reading on their computer. And someone mentioned something about the quality of the mechanics... they told us that basically everything is computerized and once they put the computer in it will tell them any problems that may occur... so your exactly right, these "certified technicans" are probably not the most knowledgable people. Hopefully I will have my car on Thursday, I didnt even get to enjoy it, when I had it I broke it in very gently and didnt push it at all, maybe once or twice. Ive been having fun with the loaner tl tho, its got some balls too but im coming from a 130hp 4cyclinder camry... anyways thanks for all the help guys

What I don't understand is how can a reputable dealership expect you to be a satisfied Acura owner if your vehicle is a lemon and they keep trying to push it on you. I wouldn't blame you if you had negative opinions of Acura after this headache.
You will definitely have to bring in the lawyers if it continues giving you problems. There's no way the dealership gives you a new car unless they are forced to by law. Keep us posted on this.

I havent read this post, but I read your last one. I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, never, buy a car, from Plaza automall never mind bringing my car there for sevice. So, I would recommend bringing your car to any other Acura dealer. Any Acura dealer is better than that place.

First off I just got the car back yesterday with the replaced computer and it runs great, no signs of stalling. They wanted to give us a free first month payment but we told them to put a spoiler on instead and they did. Not a big deal, but they wanted $17 extra for one on a lease which works out to almost $700 for a 39 month lease with tax. All in all I am happy with a free spoiler as long as the car runs beautifully the rest of the time. Honestly they were extremely nice at Plaza Acura through the whole situation, but that doesnt take away from the fact that they are a bunch of idiots. Can I get my car serviced somewhere else next time? i live out in staten island and my godfather new the manager there, so that is why we leased from there. We were quite happy with everything before this issue and very happy with the price. So anyways im lovin this car... thanks to everyone who tried to help me out ... btw sssick your car looks gorgeous, best tl ive ever seen.. i originally wanted the abp but decided to go with black because im not goin to add the kit and rims, at least not yet

Thanks alot... sorry to hear that your having problems... we really didnt start to make any progress until we called up the corporation in California and they made the dealership get on the ball...if you continue to have problems and havent already called them, i suggest you do so. They were extremely nice and helpful, let me know if you need the number, best of luck
>>>>>Great to hear and good luck! I am having some issues with Acura Client services and the dealer myself and trying to get them to take care of it.
