Not Again....Damn, Transmission!!!!
Not Again....Damn, Transmission!!!!
Okay, Me and the Mrs. returning home from Eastern Shore. (Pointe Lookout, Md). Everything going fine until we get about 20 miles from home came happen upon a stop light. Light turns green, 1st gear shift fine into 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and the engine revs redline then clunck. My heart stops, my girl is like "What the hell is that?". I tell her to prepare to walk home. Because we have approximately 10 miles before complete transmission failure. Well, I am nursing her at every light. I mean, I am pulling off so slow that 3 cynlinder GEO Metro is passing us like a Vette on a 1/4 strip. I can actually smell the transmission cooking in it's own juices. We are too far from home to think about pulling over and calling for help, trying to get a ride home. I decide to shift in to SS to have better control of gear selection. But the computer, now get this would automatically shift into the next gear own it's own. This is in SS (SportShift), It was shifting on it's own. Yet, no *Check Engine* Light. Will we made it home, and I am now waiting on a tow truck to pick her up. Now this will be my 3rd transmission to fail on me. My car currently have 60,059. At the time of my last writing I was going to purchase a Lexus GS400-430. But with 1 1/2 years left on this car. I thought it will be more plausible to keep it and pay it off. Well, Now I guess the car made up my mind for me. I am pissed off to the highest of pisstivity. Sorry for the long narrative, had to get it off my chest. I haven't even included the stupid questions that the roadside assistance asked. Just a small qoute from her, " Is the TL a front wheel drive?" ...." 2 or 4 door?". Arrrghhhh!
Addendum: Damn Transmission
Contacted Acura Customer Relations. They created a case and hopefully I will get contacted soon. I want them to buy back the vehicle. I will no longer tolerate driving this vehicle knowing that the transmission can fail at anytime and anyplace. Imagine your family driving to grandma's in the country where the nearest help is 20,50 or 100 miles away. I had to wait at my house for 3 hours for a tow truck. Imagine being on a back road in the middle of no where. Take heed people, this is one car that you will have to plan your trip wisely. For those of you with families, be careful. Don't get me wrong other than this and the warped rotors every 10,000 miles. It's a good car. But so is my Corolla which is 100 percent more reliable. Damn, knew I should gotten the Lexus, Hell I may just save money and get the New Maxima, M45, G35 or hell a used Q BABY. Hmmm, Never again. Honda has lost a customer for life. Good Luck Forum with your vehicles.
