Hello everyone

On my 02 tl-s has no gear indicator when I'm in SS mode, D5 light stayed on when I'm in SS mode and I also noticed that when I first turn the key to I position or II position they D5 light came on with the P light for a few second and turned off, the P light remain on. Need help please

Is the backlight on your LCD mileage/temperature panel working?

Yes, the lcd the odometer, temp and everything are working

Okay - then it isn't your circuit board behind the lcd panel. They are known to go out and require replacement (mine is intermittent).

Your shift selector might be faulty. There's another member who posted recently about it. He ended up having to replace his. Look for 1st hold switch (I think) to find the thread. It's in the last 2-3 weeks, maybe 4.

Replaced the whole shift selector or just the bracket detent?

Yup that's the one. I'd do the tests found in that thread to figure out what the problem is.

Took the shift selector off and disconnected all the wires from the shift selector and the D5 light still on for a few seconds with the P light. Next step I might need to take the neutral safety switch out and check the connnection and clean out the switch.

D5 light on for a few seconds is normal.
Have you tried shifting in SS mode ? if so does it shift.

When i'm in SS mode car shift normal thru all 5 gears, D5 stayed on even when I'm in SS mode. I did noticed on my outside temp display is dimmer than my odometer. Do you think possible the print panel (reg) the little circuit board in the dash might be bad and causing the SS gear indicator not turning on and half the left side of the temp/odometer dimmer than regular?

It could be the dash, Try giving it a gentle whack while in SS mode to see if it lights up intermittently.
The temp part is a regular bulb that can be replaced.

I'm thinking about to take the dash out and checking all the components on the print circuit board

You'll know if it's not working at night when you turn your lights on. The LCD temp/mileage/trip/door indicator panel and SS gear indicator will not light up at all.

I just tried it out and D5 does stay lit when in SS mode.

So you are saying the print circuit is bad?

Likely so. There's a DIY on here on how to replace it. It's a bit labor intensive because you need to remove the gauge cluster. So while you have that off I'd follow some other DIYs like changing out from bulbs to LEDs.

The part I think is around ~$50 if I remember correctly.
