Unhappy NJ TLS owners... Help!!!

I am thinking of changing my auto insurance company because I think they are screwing me over. Can anyone tell me how much they are paying their auto insurance and which company?? I am 24 right now and they are charging me over 3,500?? I never been in an accident and a really great clean record. So my NJ buddies help me out and give me some advice to get the best insurance rates. Thanks!!!

Not sure where you work, but many companies, like mine, are part of NJ Manufacturers. They are, by far, the best in the state. Of course, the fact that you are not yet 25 hurts you. I'm 28 and got quoted $1300/yr. And you have to have a totally clean record to get accepted by them. Check with your employer.

Cheer up fellas....things do get better as you get older, like car insurance. I live in Orlando, Florida and my annual premium is $916.00. Again, I am 41 with a safe drivers classification (no redlining!!) Even with no tickets or citations I thought that was kind of high. I do carry high limits though; Bodily Injury Liability is $100,000/$300,000 (to protect yourself and your assets just in case the worst scenario would play out). Plus, Florida has mandatory uninsured motorist that you need to pay. My Comprehensive and Collision is a $500.00 deductible out-of-pocket. I'm gonna check around with some other companies; currently with Geico.

Unfortunately, New Jersey has either the highest or second highest auto insurance rates in the country. Quite a few insurance companies won't even write policies here.

Darla's right. Lots of insurance companies like Geico won't write policies in NJ. When I moved from CA last year, I found that my NJ car insurance doubled! And property tax more than tripled! Who's pockets are getting all the money?

I'm going to try NJ Manufacturers as suggested since my co. is part of it. The application is like phone book though. They won't even provide quotes until you fill it out. Is it worth it?

28 years old here, $1,300 per year via State Farm. Not bad, but not good either. Just used to the rates in NJ now.

I hear that State Farm lost a lot of money last year, so they are not taking new members.

You really have to have a spotless driving record out there.

Yo I am 22 years old and pay $1845 a year with New Jersey Manufactures. They might be the best insurance company in NJ that will give you the best rate. A clean record will help also.

I already called New Jersey Manufactures for a quote application. But someone at work said that if you are under their policy and you get one point on your license, they aren't going to take you as a member anymore. Is this true??

If you get points they will not drop you, and they will not raise your rates either, which is great. But if you keep getting points or accidents, they will drop you. I was given a warning once years ago, and I quckly changed my ways. No problems now.

New Jersey Manufacturers will give you the best rate in NJ if you don't screw up.
For me, I have State Farm. I'm paying about $1500 a year. The agent has been nice, unless the rate increases dramatically, I plan to stay with state farm.
