NJ Inspection

The time has finally come to inspect my car. I need to get my car inspected by November 2005 and I need to know of a garage where I can get my car inspected. Does anyone have a place that they go to or they know of where I can pass inspection for the tints in the front and the cleared headlights? Help would be greatly appreciated. Gotta be in New Jersey! Thanks!

I thought that all NJ cars purchased new after 2000 could not go to a non-NJDOT inspection center for inspection. I'm up in June this year.

Anyone know for sure?

I took it that all cars purchased after 2000 from a dealer were entitled to a 2 year "extension" before needing to go for inspection. I bought my car in Aug. of 2002 and it's not due until Aug. 2006.

man, i hate NJ (before you jersey folk flame me, i grew up in NJ before movin' out recently)

those jerk offs at the state-run inspection stations failed me for tint covering the third brake light. yes, the freakin' third brake light, and this is AFTER i ripped off the front tints before being inspected. so basically, i ripped off my front tints for nothing. luckily, my really good friend owns a tint shop so it didnt cost me anything to re-tint, but still...so now, if i had staying in NJ, i would have to have ripped out the rear window tint or carefully cut around that brake light.

man, jersey is a bitch!

Yeah don't you hate it when people can't follow the rules. It's illegal, why are you bitching at them?

Actually its not illegal, but the inspection stations can do whatever they want to "bend the rules". The last time I got pulled over for tinted windows was about 13 years ago and I got a warning - he couldn't give me a ticket (NJ trooper on the GSP).

i'm bitching b/c my friend went to a state inspection up north and he passed even though his 3rd brake light was covered by tint, my point is that the state-run stations are subjective as hell. all i ask is for uniformity in enforcing the rules.
