Nice Day + 12Pack = wax (pics)
Beautiful day here in NY so I spent some time on my neglected TL. I got her in Feb, but havent really have the time to do what needed to be done.
Wash then used the clay bar and was happy to see that not much came up. Then waxed. Came out very well. Dressed the tires and all was good.

It came out great, but a UDM would do wonders on a black car. I use to do everything by hand as well and I achieved great results. Once I got my UDM and took out all the light swirls on my car, and my fathers TSX I was kicking myself for all that manual labor I put into waxing cars. lol

after the cleaner wax- you need to put a final POLISH on the car
That seals and protects the surface from UV rays and the general environment~
wax and polish are different things
Synthetic wax has 100 degree higher melt point than carnuba car wax, which wont stand up to a week in vegas.
Now there are blends with syn and nuba for that deep wet gloss look and the superior protection. I use a spray version of that - spray on wipe down with microfiber towel and my neighbors thinks its a brand new car- its an 01
Megs makes a color cleaner too- my TL looks 2 shades lighter than a buddies with same paint code on dark grey-silver TLs- LGM- follow that with the cleaner wax and then polish
I use a UDM buffer- no more sore hands for me~

I dont think it took an hour to clay. maybe 45.
I wanted to do the entire car, but I only had enough clay "lube" to do the horizontal surfaces. If I had enough, I would have done the sides too. Does anyone know what the substance in the clay bar kit bottle is? I dont think its just water.
I know you can go crazy with all the detailing----wash, compound, clay, wax, polish, etc.. but I was good with that. I have this post wax spray.. which I could have used, but didnt b/c I had to get the BBQ going!
