Does anyone know what new features will appear on the next model year (2003) TL-type -S ?

ALso, given the tranny problems I'm hearing, whould an extended warratny be in order?

 

no news on 2003 TL. Rumor is that the all new TL would show as 2004 in Sept 03.

 

news for the 2003 model TL is that its gonna have onstar, and it will have Anthracite Metallic for the TYPE-S model....



So it should look like this...

 

Anthracite Metallic is NICE!!! They have that color for Type S in HK.... WDP, Anthracite and ABP are the 3 best color for TL, IMO!!

It is. Too bad they didn't offer it when I bought my TL-S - I would have gotten it. C'est la vie.

BTW - BLACK/BLACK is the best color for 2002, though blue is a close second.

 

I hope that they dont redesign the whole thing like i have heard. That would really suck.

Who knows? Until more info is available for the new TL then we can't tell. I would think that if the CLS got a manual then the TLS would also get one. Then again, the CL had a type S before the TL did, so maybe the CL will get a manual tranny before the TL just so Acura can see how well it sells.

However, it is supposed to be a complete redesign for the 2003 TL. It will interesting to see what it looks like.

 

personally, it'd be nice to see an awd option, but with the current traction control and vehicle assist features, maybe that's redundant

Here we go again! "The topic that wouldn't die"

Very little will change in 2002 (2003 model) to the TLS. One new color (anthracite...which I would have gotten, dammit!) and very little else. Six speed might be availiable at the end of this year, but thats probably the soonest (my sources tell me this). I drove the six speed CL-S last summer and it was really wild, but I'd never want another manual tranny as my primary vehicle.

tea elle is right. Beside the six-speed, Acura's done nothing but minor cosmetic work on the 2003 CL. And the CL needs all the help it can get, sales have tanked. Some of the changes that could carry over to the 2003 TL which is due out this March are:

1) OnStar on Navi cars (Confirmed)

2) Anthracite on TL-S (Confirmed)

3) New wheel styles on the TL-P and TL-S

4) Alumininum plastic trim to replace bowling ball on TL-S' with Ebony interiors

5) Perforated leather door trim on the TL-S

6) Body color grill and door handles

Other than the above, I wouldn't expect a lot of additional changes. The CL mostly got what the TL got with the 02' face lift. The redesigned TL will be a 2004 probably released in the Fall of '03.

 

If this happens, Tim better get ready to carry these as well. I think a lot of members (myself included) would like to get a factory-prepped and painted body color grille and handles.

Which will be followed in 2004 with a MR FUSION

 

I deff. want to see a Anthracite Met TL-S, w/ a wing, body kit. I'll bet that will look Schweet

 

It will also have an option for a Tachyon Emitter Relay.

The engine will also be redesigned with a warp conduit , our top speeds should be at least warp 3.2. With some tuning of the ECM plasma loops, 3.5 should be attainable.
