new wheel hub assembly?

So i hear an odd drone in my car while i drive, i havent swapped out exhausts yet. I do have a cracked exhaust, but i believe i Might also have a bad wheel hub assembly, the rear passenger side to be exact. A shop told me that the wheel hub being bad could be the reason as to why my car makes those weird creaking noises ive complained and posted so much about. How long can i wait to replace this? I just got new rear tires.

I had to replace a front wheel hub recently, the bearing was bad and making a loud grinding/squealing type noise that was louder the faster I was going.

I'm not sure how long you can leave it alone but they're not super expensive: Wheel HUB Front Rear Dorman 930 450 | eBay

It's possible to DIY:

If you have the tools you can DIY

Typically bearings dont make creaking noises. They make humming noises. The rear is really easy to do as you can easily replace just the bearing. Nothing needs to be pressed out and in.

^ Agreed, rears are easy. I went ahead & did both on mine when one started getting noisy. Did one of my fronts last month, much more work.

I get some creaking from the rear, pretty sure mine is suspension related, but I only notice it when getting in/out of the car.

Hmm. My creaking happens everytime i go to brake, before speed bumps, its ways when the car is stopping.the shop keeps looking at my bushings and say that they seem to be fine. Honestly, its really pissng me off. Jusy like a loid chirping noise when the a/c is on.ive replaced the idler pulley twice, with the new pulley and bearing and still it chirps. So many things i cant seem to figure out :/

Spray some WD40 on the rear suspension components. Could be worn bushings or end links. Strange that the creaking only occurs while braking.....may want to check the brakes out ? Maybe something dry or rubbing ?

^ I had a rusty creaking noise coming from the front suspension over speed bumps, sprayed on some rustproofing lubricant spray on all the suspension parts and the noise is gone.

Silicone spray is better to spray on the bushings. It may not last a very long time ESP after driving in the rain but it may help pinpoint the location of your noise

^^^ Yeah, basically anything to help lube the rubber and temporarily isolate the problem area.
If the noise subsides, then ya know that ya have a suspension issue to resolve for a permanent fix.

Damn. And aside from that, my oil pan just cracked Again. The jb weld and silicone i had got scraped off. Ive heard of somebody that moded their oil pan with another sheet of metal to cover it and prevent it from scraping or cracking. He bolted it on his accord. Is this possible on our 2G TL? If so, how complex is it?

Never heard of being able to patch up a cracked oil pan but maybe it's possible..how bad is the leak from the crack? I wouldn't feel comfortable driving around with something like that where it could suddenly crack more and leak out all the oil and ruin the engine. I would say find a used oil pan and replace yours

Yea, It was a vertical crack along the oil pan. So they jb welded it without taking out the oil pan, so in theory, there was stil remnants of the oil in the pan seeping through. It still leaked, So they put a small metal plate to try and plug it, and it still leaked. So we used super glue to kinda stop the oil from leaking through so quickly, and then we used silicone gel to seal. The oil had stopped seeping through, so i just took the car to work and stuff. Shoulda maybe jb welded it again over it. It was the biggest boojie rig ive ever seen, but we made it work, until the horrid roads of miami struck fear into my car's soul. (Scraped silicone right off, car is bleeding now)

Whatever caused the oil pan to crack ......such as bad roads and a lowered suspension, will happen again.

It's not worth trying to put a "bandaid" repair on something as critical as your car motor's oil pan. Could be a very costly mistake, IMO. Install a new oil pan and drive slower over bad roads. Don't let her bleed to death !!!

Can someone please help me?

I have a loud humming noise. I replace both rear wheel bearings last year and I just replaced both front wheel bearings today.

I still have the humming noise with 4 brand new bearings.

What is causing this humming noise?

It get's louder the faster I go and quiets down when I slow down.

I had this new mechanic who's a friend of a friend install the two new front bearings today, NSK parts good quality.

The mechanic who did the rear bearings was kind of a dick and I have no idea what brand he put on their last year.

Could the rear bearings have gone bad already in only one year?

I've had uneven tire wear, especially feathering, sound EXACTLY like a bad wheel bearing. Have someone knowledgeable check your tires, as well as checking your wheel bearings on a hoist, using a mechanic's stethoscope. If they don't have, or don't know what a mechanic's stethoscope is find someone else. This shouldn't be rocket surgery.

The tires are brand new, balanced and put on at a body shop down the street from my office. It has to be one of the rear bearing hub assemblies.. I'll jack it up and spin the back wheels and listen for noise

Used a stethoscope and found it was the rear left wheel bearing, the one I just changed last year (with a cheap ebay part) going to put on an NTN hub/bearing next week.. oh and I also had a screw in my tire and it seems that the rear left caliper is starting to seize up..
