New tranny on the way

Guess you can put me on the list for dead tranny man

Took the car in yesterday morning to acura and the manager took for a drive, 2 min later he came back and he knows it's slipping too

so i will get a new tranny later this week or next week

my frd works at there as service advisor so it's all good and no problem with my mods that i have

and today my frd told me the new tranny is here but still waiting for the PCM, once it gets here it's ready for the swap.

and i know another guy who works at the Honda/Acura parts dept. and he told me there are tons of tranny problems with the V6 cars...

the new tranny is modified and the PCM is different than the old one, and actually a little bit slower than our original tranny, is that true? anyone can confirm that?

congrats on joining the club.

as for it being slower thats just speculation by some, but doesnt add up to what they say they were trying to change in the shifting. none of mine were. the shifts were actually faster to allow less slipping

the parts guy said it's the same as the 04 TL one, so he said i would expect a smoother and quicker shift and faster accle in low rpm, but eventually will be a little bit slower

but why they do need a new PCM? can't they just use the old PCM?

no they sped up the shifting to allow less slipping which was generating too much heat (or so i was told) all i know is mine was as fast or faster after teh ecu

Are you still driving the car with the tranny problem? Last time i had my tranny replaced, i told them i am not going to drive it and they gave me a loaner.
