New Rotors?

New Rotors?
Hey guys,
Being a new car guy, I don't know what the best brands for the best parts are.
That being said, what are some quality rotors that you guys know of / use?
From what I hear, it is not as important to go for high quality / super expensive rotors compared to brake pads. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks!

crap rotors and great pads will stop like crap, need good matched pad and rotor set for best braking torque
Look thru any of the brake threads for various choices
Everyone thinks theirs were the best decision
All depends on how you drive and brake, where you drive and want you want the brakes to do
We can suggest anything from mild to wild based on your needs

The thing with our One Pot Caliper is that even with "General Use" they warp cheap rotors in no time.... You might want to spend a little more than your everyday car since you will be changing/re-surfacing cheap rotors in no time with the TL..

I wont use ceramic pads on the TL for a DD. Yes they do keep down the brake dust, BUT- DD use is when you are going to need immediate stopping power some day,,,many days = traffic sucks~
semi metallic pads- the normal type brake pad, are fine for DD use
Slotted rotors are not needed either- that's for repeated extreme hard brake use where expanding gasses being created between pad and rotor have an escape route.
It is possible in extreme situations for those gasses to push the pads off the rotor while under braking!!! totally not cool!
spend $30-50 per rotor and pads about 50 should hook you up fine
In general, Powerslot are a good brake
if you like EBC get matched pads and rotors- same maker designed to work together
note: Hawk HPS pads are good, there are many better, and they are a major dust maker
Note2: 3 coats of synthetic car wax to both sides of rims keeps brake dust adhesion to a minimum

Ceramic is good for low dust and low noise. slotted rotors to prevent warping. And yes pad build up does happen, but rotors do warp too.
Like I said "Too many to chose from".

slotted rotors do not prevent warping, neither does the caliper swap
Note: we don't have to buy the semi loaded units - since I did mine several years ago and posted those part #s, a ziner found minor difference in the included bolts = so I now say buy them unloaded- bare caliper and use all the TL parts for the rest

why do you plan on replacing all 4 calipers- are they leaking? old fluid rotted the insides?
if not leave them alone, or plan on rebuilding them at 10 dollars each~

I saw the new part #s on here, maybe a search for legend calipers posted in the last 2 years will reveal it
Don't know what negative effect the difference in slider pins might cause-
but mine have been on there several years....

FWIW, I just did a complete brake job on my TL about a month ago that included upgrading to the Legend two piston calipers up front, braided brake lines at all four corners, and flushing the entire brake system. I went with Centric rotors all around and Akebono ACT pads. So far, I am happy with the results.
